Saw those too. A guy in my office has a pair that he uses exclusively for music, and he keeps a pair of Sony XM4s for calls because he said they have better mics and less complaints via zoom.

In my limited and non-scientific testing, yes you would be leaving a small amount on the table with optical. System dependent, so take it with a grain of salt. Best bet is to test it at home in your system. There's no rush. It's not like anyone is stopping cable production :)

The design caught my eye. The 5.12 watts per channel output and dual R2R DAC got me shopping. An excellent price on an lightly used unit got me to pull the trigger. Very happy so far! On to the headphone decision next!

And it's here! I'm surprised how much more detail this amp change is brining out compared to my previous Modius/rHead combo. The low end detail and texture is what stood out first. Looking forward to getting more familiar with it. The one gripe... really wish it had a power switch on the front...
