    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Got mine yesterday. Haven't had a chance to do a deep dive yet but, initial impressions are very, very favorable. Absolutely beautiful. I couldn't wait to open all the "episodes." Just wanted to make sure everything was there and no record, print mix-ups. Waiting on a new needle for my turntable...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

I had my gripes about the Blue Note problems all the way through. However, I'm not so sure one can say that only the bottom line was/is the concern with this Motown box. It's really a niche item. Seems to me so many more genres/artists they could have focused on that would sell out immediately...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Went ahead and bought it. I don’t have any of the suspected albums, so that was a factor. The box design is much cooler than the BN. Hope everything is worth it. 🤞 SoulPower!

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Talking myself into this. The getting everything at once might have flipped me. That way, we'll know if there any f*ck ups (truly hoping there aren't any) nice and quick instead of dragging it on. Plus, I'm interested to see if they really learned from their mistakes on A1. Plus, I f*cking love...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Damn. Was hoping with the discounts it’d be in the $200 range. Looks neat, but gonna be tough to press buy on this.

Looks like Bobby Hutcherson's "Montara" is not going to be exclusive to the Blue Note Anthology box. Not that I really expected it, I suppose. New reissue out in Europe if anyone's interested in picking it up that missed out on the box. Fab album!

Day 24: Label Junior Parker - Love Ain't Nothin' But A Business (Groove Merchant Records - 1971) This album got on the radar of many in the Hip Hop community after DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill sampled Junior's cover of The Beatles', "Tax Man" in 1993 for "I Wanna Get High." But, it's a fine...

Holy Sunday - A slight twist on the theme. There was a great tradition by 50's and early 60's R&B artists of appropriating traditional gospel numbers, which usually pissed off the church. Here's a fine example. Bobby "Blue" Bland's 1962 gem, "Yield Not To Temptation" borrows it's title from an...

Kelly Finnigan's record is probably my fav so far. Just to not repeat @Wicked Dreamer, Lee Fields' "It Rains Love" is most definitely in my Top 5.

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

No. It’s not only a bubble mailer, but the flimsiest one they could find. Too big for the booklet, so it was bound to get bent up. Friggin’ idiots! Even worse, EVEN WORSE, as they claimed it was to prevent damage. I just... I don’t know. What a drag. I can only assume they’ll replace it. After...

    Vinyl Me Please Anthology

Same here. Never had any VMP issues before this. I mean, if everything in the end turns out delivered and OK, (I received a replacement for my damaged box today, which was cool) I suppose I won't be soured by the whole thing too much. It just hasn't been necessarily pleasant. I'm a real laid...
