MOVIE #39
The Omen (1976)
First time watching this classic. It's definitely a slow-burn, but an effective one. Richard Donner directs and gives the film a quiet, sophisticated atmosphere that makes the violent, disturbing moments that much more shocking. I was surprised Damien took up very little actual screentime, from this movie's reputation you'd expect him to be in a lot more of it, but it's really more about Gregory Peck's character than anything else. Overall, it was enjoyable, and I can only imagine how many religious parents got the shit scared out of them by this back in 1976.
