This album just missed out on making the top 10!

I’m actually so surprised you like this album TCell! It’s such an incredible album! 🔥🔥🔥

You love jazz, soul and blues and the Classics ROTM track in general and you seem to love Indie and Rock a lot. I would’ve never of guessed that you love the album Love vs. Money!

So intrigued by you now lol 😈🤔

To quote Whitman: "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes."

Just like you, I love music Nathan. And while Hip-Hop and modern R&B aren't my favourite, I do like them. And that album (really the whole trilogy) by The-Dream is smouldering seduction.

Let's also take a moment to remember that 2009 was the year when Shakira was dancing inside a glittery giant... something singing the amazing line "I'm starting to feel just a little abused like a coffee machine in an office".

Your BONUS track is awesome! That whole album is incredible, sincerely, no sarcasm. And i think i remember that there are no guitars on it anywhere, right? And "Part of Me" charted in Europe on the DANCE charts...

Haven't had a really difficult year in a while! I was a junior in college in 2009, and was really starting to explore the indie rock scene a lot more around this time. The first few are pretty obvious picks if you know my M.O., the rest was really tough to narrow down.

1. Silversun Pickups - Swoon. I wouldn't learn about my favorite band until 2010 driving with my wife on our honeymoon. We had purchased an SUV in late 2009, and it still had a Sirius XM subscription. Panic Switch came on during the drive. We were both hung over from the celebration our family subjected us to the night before, and discovering this band and feeling like I was ready to die were about the only things I remember from that car trip.
2. Manchester Orchestra - Mean Everything To Nothing. Got the vinyl up on the wall!
3. Passion Pit - Manners. Discovered this thanks to a friend who had it playing in the car on the way to see NOFX. Instant obsession.
4. We Were Promised Jetpacks - These Four Walls. This one was a vinyl white whale for a long time, the rerelease was one of the few vinyl purchases I made this year.
5. Dinosaur Jr. - Farm.
6. Modest Mouse - No One's First, and You're Next
7. Metric - Fantasies
8. Built to Spill - There Is No Enemy
9. Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
10. The Dear Hunter - Act III: Life and Death

Fillip's Big Damn List of Honorable Mentions:
Animal Collective - Merriweather Post Pavilion
The Lonely Island - Incredibad. Funny story, I got into E-40 because of his collab on this album. I knew OF him before this, but hadn't really listened to his work.
MC Lars - This Gigantic Robot Kills
The Number 12 Looks Like You - Worse Than Alone
Halestorm - S/T
NOFX - Coaster. I really liked this album when it came out. There are still some bangers (We Called It America, Blasphemy, Suits and Ladders), but there are also some big duds on this one.
CKY - Carver City. I feel like this band was always underrated.
Eels - Hombre Lobo
Sunset Rubdown - Dragonslayer
Billy Talent - III
He Is Legend - It Hates You
Portugal. The Man - The Satanic Satanist
Mutemath - Armistice
Arctic Monkeys - Humbug
Fun - Aim and Ignite
Muse - The Resistance
The Fall of Troy - In The Unlikely Event
Baroness - Blue Record
Los Campesinos - Romance Is Boring

7. Telefon Tel Aviv - Immolate Yourself
8. Bowerbirds - Upper Air

I feel like the back-half of this list is pretty interchangeable with another half dozen or so albums...Bill Callahan, Franz Ferdinand, Neko Case, Kings of Convenience, White Lies, Phoenix...I'll roll on current mood

Your BONUS track is awesome! That whole album is incredible, sincerely, no sarcasm. And i think i remember that there are no guitars on it anywhere, right? And "Part of Me" charted in Europe on the DANCE charts...
