Lou Reed - Live At Alice Tully Hall (January 27, 1973 - 2nd Show) Approximately 33 years after this show from 1973, Lou would headline one of Europes most renowned music festivals, Barcelona’s Primavera Sound in 2006.
The Allman Brothers Band - At Fillmore East Not sure if Capricorn is a good or bad sign (I’m a Sagittarius) but it was a pretty fantastic record label putting out one of the greatest Live albums of all time.
This may be a stretch but I found this to be a cool connection! The album this song appears on “Houses of the Holy” has a truly iconic cover which I learned today was designed by an art design group named Hipgnosis. Looking into them they have made a shit ton of amazing album covers including this album by Twink, Emerson Lake and Palmer’s “Trilogy”, Olivia Newton-John’s “Olivia” and fucking Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side”!
Dave Matthews Band - Live At Red Rocks 8.15.95 When I think of “Oye Como Va” I think of Santana but I do not own Abraxis or any other Santana album on vinyl. I’ve never really had much to do with Santana at all, I think I would probably enjoy him if I ever sat down and gave an album my full attention but that really hasn’t happened at this point…
Beyond Supernatural which was released during the height of my DMB obsession and since the album include a cut featuring Dave and Carter Beauford it was a CD I had to own.
