Baseball

I know it's early but nice to see that last year's fantastic season might not have been such a fluke from the Giants. Winning in all kinds of ways and pissing off many by breaking some 'unwritten rules' along the way.
I was confused why the Giants made a quick pitstop here on Monday for 1 game, but I guess they're slowly making up games from a series from the lockout. I was happy to get back to the Pirates.

Yeah, that was so weird...especially after 10 games already on the road. Damn Burnes is nasty, you guys have a good one with him.

I have no idea why that "unwritten rule" exists anyways. I agree with your manager (mind you I HATE the Giants), and teams need to try to win series, not just games. Try to break down the other team, make them use their bullpen. All that being said, EFF THE GIANTS! ;)

I know it’s early but The White Sox are not a very good baseball team with a bad manager. I really hope they get their shit together before the wheels completely fall off.
Well, last night was it for me. After 47 years, I'm taking an indefinite break from being a fan of the White Sox.

Baseball is supposed to be fun and entertaining, but this team, under Reinsdorf and LaRussa, whom I despise, makes me unhappy far too often. And I have better things to do with my time.

Anyone want to buy my fandom? It's well earned, and comes with a lot of memories, some of them good, along with a few t-shirts.

If I haven’t given up on The Sox (or The Bears for that matter) at this point I doubt I ever will. LaRussa is not working out. The team has had some bad luck sure, but he has cost the team wins. There is no reason this team should be in third place in this division. They have too much talent to be playing this poorly. If Reinsdorf wants to win another championship before he dies he better not squander another season of this team in its prime. He's not gonna make it through another rebuild.

I have seen this story before, and I'm pretty sure I know how it ends (not well). If I'm wrong and they turn it around, then JR and TLR will be patting each other on the back for their "brilliance," which disgusts me. So it's a no-win situation, because I can't root for them to lose, but any success will feel gross. Thus, I'm done. I've been heading this way for a long time now, and it feels kind of good to be free of the yoke of fandom.

I figure if all goes well, both The White Sox and I will be here long after both LaRussa and Reinsdorf have left this mortal coil. I enjoy Tim Anderson and Louis Robert too much to bail on them now, we will suffer through together.

I get it, they're really good, I hope they figure it out. The noise surrounding them has become overwhelming for me though. I can't abide arrogant selfish stupid wealthy old men anymore, it's too much. And 29 of 30 teams ultimately lose every year, it's unavoidable.
Honestly, I don't really want to pass my fandom on to my two kids, because I'm not sure it's been a net positive for me. I would rather enjoy music, art, nature and playing sports with them rather than supporting top college/pro sports.

Don't know if some you are into NFT and/or collectible baseball cards. Sorare is turning into a big thing here in France and could be even bigger in the US with these kind of contracts. My brother resigned from his job to "play" this full-time. If some of you are interested PM me and I'll give you his contact so he can help you starting.
