Placement is very much a work in progress outside of the top tier. And even there, I could see Weyes Blood skyrocketing up. I've only gone through that album fully once-- and I was driving. But I was pretty struck by it. Second play through is me falling asleep to it right now.

Her previous one was very hit or miss for me even though I know people adore it.

I usually love Paste's lists but this feels a little too indie rock centric. That said, it has me listening to Lucifer on the Sofa again.

So odd, like I loved it when it dropped than forgot about it and am now immediately hooked again.

Sort of the conundrum of a band that's been around forever. When you put out one of your best batch of songs but are also adhering to your well worn formula, does your audience get bored regardless of the quality?

Given Paste’s background as an Indie Rock/Alternative publication I thought it included decent amount Pop and Hip-Hop all things considered.

That's fair but I feel like their lists have been more eccentric in the past. I feel like a lot of the bands on this list could be programmed into a specific lane at a music festival ala when I'd show up at Coachella with a friend and know exactly who they would be seeing at all-times because the programming goal was to heard them from one group after another that fit their specific sensibilities.
