Not too surprising considering what I know of your listening habits. I first heard of her on Frank Oceans Blonde and have been a fan ever since. It's not my favorite album of the year, but its a very good R&B albumI'm not saying it's not deserving I'm just surprised since I never heard of it

Also, if you haven’t heard her Love Me Back record from 2010, give that one a listen. That is a really great R&B album

I couldn't get into that one but I get what you're saying. Unfortunately I was late to the party on that Arooj Aftab album which I find to be absolutely sublimeI wish I had discovered this Floating Points album sooner. It's one of those rare ones that you're listening, feel like 5 minutes have passed and all of a sudden you see you're on Movement 6The piano melody throughout is mesmerizing. Very Eno and Arvo Part-esque
It would have definitely ranked higher on my AOTY list, had I more time with it.

I mean double Lana right near the top is a little ridiculous. But hey Japanese Breakfast at 1? St. Vicent at 2? And Courtney Barnett at 10? This is slightly more my style. Although not all the way.
