Ch Ch Ch Changes! - David Bowie Talk

Damn I need to start thinking like a flipper. Buy 2 now and sell one in a few months to offset the original price
Do you not just worry about dropping something that expensive? I've a dylan one step I fear taking out of the box to the extent I'm not buying anymore and my RatM debut hasnt been off the shelf since I saw the discogs price.

I’m a bit more careful with them, particularly when I’ve paid a bit myself, but I bought them as records to play, not as appreciating assets, so I’m not going to not play them.

I think it's more the fact that if I bugger one there's no way in a million years I'll be able to replace it. Stuff kind of becomes special occasion listening for me when it's irreplaceable. When I ordered the first two I was completely ignorant of the price jump and had thus idea of saving them till I had all six any having a 90s Bowie live fest. I'll probably still do the same. Just in gloves

Do you regularly bugger records when trying to play them?

Its not a thought thats ever crossed my mind.

I dropped a copy of Fables about 2 months back taking it off the RCM. Took a chunk out of the wax. I was/ am still gutted. It's a loud enough part of the album that it plays through it but that's a £60 album with big dink on one side of a discontinued pressing. Like |I said... gutted. It's added a level of caution that wasn't there until recently.

The only one I don't take out any more to spin is my copy of Blonde. The One Steps I have taken out of the box and stored them in the sleeves as I have the others. I try not to get caught up in the value of some of them because then I never listen and I may as well sell them.

You're still dangerous... but you can be my wingman anytime

Damn looking at those Discogs prices, I am seriously thinking of getting 2 of each of the next 3. As much as the Bowie estate seems to be milking the catalogue (looking at you Space Oddity 7in boxsets) they at least have not gone back on their word and released stuff that they said was limited. All together I paid $60 Cdn for Ouvrez (shipping and taxes included) and looks like the cheapest copy sealed sold for $101 Cdn on Discogs. One asshat in Canada is selling a sealed copy for $250 USD!!!

I almost considered the t shirt (the moron one not the black) as it looks pretty cool... But one copy banked to live with the others. I'm 3 in now. May as well keep going
They hooked us with the first 3 being only 2xlp so the price was cheaper. Bet the next 2 are extra fancy and $$$. Yup, hook, line and sinker

Number 4 is alive. Get in now before a bunch of bastards hoover them up and bump the price to the same place Bowie wants you to look

What's the story with these? I assume the previous three have been of high quality in terms of both sound and content?
