December 2020 Challenge Thread: Let's Go Out With A Bang (The return of the raffle!)

Day 23: Festivus!
Play an album that doesn't give a shit and tells it like it is

There is some fluff on here but by and large the album is filled with no frill, straightforward, clever, and darker observations on southern life with a modern woman’s perspective. Particularly Follow Your Arrow and Merry Go Round which pull absolutely no punches while setting off a very promising career.

That Mary Kay / Mary Jane / Mary Two Doors Down line is perfect

Kacey Musgraves - Same Trailer Different Park

Day 24: Christmas Eve: Santa's Playlist - Play something you think Santa would listen to while delivering presents!

Kelly Finnigan - A Joyful Sound

The elves keep it traditional year round at the North Pole, so when he's out on his own, Santa likes to switch things up and goes for some soul Christmas music!

Gang of Four - Entertainment!

Maybe Gang of Four gave a shit, I dunno, but it kinda sounds like they didn’t. Side note: a lot of my work involves talking with people with headaches and there are times where I have to fight the urge to sing, “This heaven... gives me mee-graine!”

The Supremes - Merry Christmas

For the longest time, the only version of “Children’s Christmas Song” that I was familiar with would skip and repeat the same line halfway through the track, so now whenever I hear the line completed, it feels wrong.

Day 24: Christmas Eve: Santa's Playlist

Kraftwerk Man Machine - Santa likes that motortik beat, and the festive colour scheme.

In ’74 Santa had a real bad sleigh accident, but the government said “we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We can make him better than he was. Better, stronger, faster.” Yes Santa is a cyborg and became the inspiration for the classic tv show 6 Million Dollar Man.

Day 24: Christmas Eve: Santa’s Playlist

V/A - A Capitol Christmas

An easy pick, but Christmas classics from great artists like Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Ella Fitzgerald, etc. would no doubt be a part of Santa’s playlist, especially if you’re trying to fit the mood of joy & giving.

Spoon - Kill the Moonlight

I don't know if Santa gets high in back seats of cars, but he definitely breaks into mobile homes.
