"18 Wheels of Love" may not be the swooniest love song ever written, but the extended version of the actual story of Patterson Hood's mom and her husband told here flutters my heart every time. The song also holds a special place in my heart from much of the early part of my wife's and my relationship when I would often (half) joke about running off to Dollywood to elope, inspired in no small part by this song - so the pleasant personal memories swarm whenever any version of DBT playing it comes on.
 
Day 6 - Strings
Play something that prominently features strings

Of all the things I miss about living in Boulder, listening to KBCO is at the top. I discovered so much good music back in the day on that station and it exposed me to music I wouldn't have been likely to come across otherwise. This album brings back that KBCO feeling of waiting in the cold for the latest Studio C release. Such a gorgeous album.

Day 5 love, I love the live music experience and even better at my local venue where we get all sorts turn up on tour so my entry for this was one I picked up from the merch table last night, i have seen Beans loads over the years all over the country20211206_150014.jpg but it's always a special night when he comes to my home town
 
Day 6 — Strings

I’m a sucker for classical music, and one day I’d love to own a nice pressing of the Bach Cello Suite in G Major, but until then, I’ll just be a nerd and relive Empire.

You know how different songs hit you at different times? My kids are older and starting to branch out on their own / have their own lives, and I didn't realize how much it was impacting me until about a week or two ago and Landslide came on and I heard that song in a whole different light, specifically this refrain:

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach

Starts with an orchestral intro, and throughout strings coexist with synths, electronics, guitars, and everything else, because, you know, it's Gorillaz.
