TSHA - Capricorn Sun

Another awesome N&G rotm. Some future House brought to us by @Kris , read more:

Day 18: Manics

Play something by the Manics or something that inspired them or that they inspired.

I admittedly have absolutely no reference for the Manic Street Preachers, but will be listening to some later today. In the meantime I'll kick it off with a band the internet tells me had a huge influence on the guitar player, since he learned to play while playing along with it.

Guns n' Roses ~ Appetite For Destruction

Definitely a huge influence on the band.

My system would not qualify as an “audiophile” set up but when stuff is cut as exquisitely as these MFSL 45 RPM Dead releases you can still appreciate the added quality.

Ducks Ltd. - Harm’s Way

One of my favorite albums of 2024. Also, a nice bonus, this albums was cut at 45 RPMs too so I didn’t even have to change speeds.

Definitely a huge influence on the band.

Yeah absolutely formative. Alongside the clash. In the early days the band spoke at length about those two and public enemy.

Day 17: Chain II
Play an artist whose name beings with the last letter of the previously played artist.

@imtheocean Can't recommend this one enough!

I used to crowbar this into every month’s challenge thread back in the old VMP forum days. No one really knew what I was on about lol.

It kinda growing to be a sort of undercover low key forum favourite over the last year warms my cold little heart.

Having had my own experience of it being an absolute revelation not too long ago, I've been enjoying watching it happen a couple/few more times since.

If you’re unfamiliar there really isn’t anything else like this in their catalog. They built up to this and then after Richey disappears, they very much become a different band.

The closest is probably Journal For Plague Lovers but 15 years later they probably didn’t have the same fury. Great album nonetheless. With there still being a fair amount of Richey lyrics still on it Everything Must Go is also a whole host darker than most arena filling chart topping widescreen rock albums tend to be.

It’s been the absolute best thing about the generator project.
