Definitive Audiophile pressings

I think that's a couple hundred more than last time I checked.
yep--prices have gone up quite a lot in the past two years on those....although somebody on hoffman is selling a few different Zep Classic Records pressings from between $200-$300 each.

actually @Mather isn't right...you can get em for $300 and under on discogs too.

great now @Mather will be typing in shouty all-caps all night
Well, it's still wrong. The Discogs median is around $540 CDN, but looking at 2023 sales, it looks like a MN copy floats between around $330 - $400 CDN. It is the mint, sealed copies that bump up the media quite significantly as these appear to go above the $600 CDN mark.

That means it is around or cheaper than that MOFi copy at $300 USD, and the Classic is far superior.

If there's one thing my Great Great Grandpappy Mather taught me, it's "watch out for witches".

If there's two things my Great Great Grandpappy Mather taught me, it's always round up.
My Great Great Grandpappy taught me "just admit when you are wrong".

Second thing my Great Great Grandpappy taught me was "watch out for people who round up".

Third thing is, I haven't a clue who my Great Great Grandpappy is, never knew him.

My Great Great Grandpappy taught me "just admit when you are wrong".

Second thing my Great Great Grandpappy taught me was "watch out for people who round up".
My goodness, are you calling my Great Great Grandpappy a liar?

You know who once called my Great Great Grandpappy a liar?

Witches.

You know what happened to them?

Google it.

I rest my case and in closing Great Great Grandpappy Cotton Mather went on to live a very long and fruitful life that was not in any way cut short by a sudden unexplained fatal case of "Witch Pox Brain Scramblies".

The end.

DON'T GOOGLE IT

Well, this is really cool.

Back in January, I ordered Muriel Grossmann's "Birth Of The Mystery" from Bandcamp. When it arrived it was really filthy, with lots of fingerprints, slightly warped, and what I initially thought were scratches over the record itself. I popped a message over to James at Passerine Records to explain the situation and he offered to send a replacement. I cleaned the record up and it actually came out ok and played with no real issues, so I messaged him back to explain and said there was no need to send another (small label, from the States, etc).

He came back thanking me and said once he finished moving house he would dig out something extra special to send as a thank you. Today, a package arrived with a note. Initially, they managed to secure Kevin Gray to cut "Birth Of The Mystery", which he did. They pressed 5 test pressings and gave them to the band and label, but there was a single tick on one of the tracks so it got rejected. They then used a different engineer as Kevin was no longer available.

So here we have 1 of 5 test pressings cut by Gray of Grossmann's album. Very cool.

Pro-tip: if @MikeH says he’s coming to visit, he is planning on bringing you home as a “guest”
