But you haven’t really tasted toast until you’ve done it at 78!I hate it when you have to toast those at 45rpm. So many flips!

Oh ye of the golden ears, not looking for a "definitive" pressing, but any input on a good pressing of Exodus, not including UHRQ or MoFi............or are either of those worth the extra scratch.
Original copies are fantastic too. I’ve had a couple US pressings and all sound great. It’s probably one of, if not the, best recorded reggae album ever.
the UHQR is also excellent but these OG UKs are no slouch. really great sounding versions.
posted this one yesterday. bummer there's no album jackets with it--just 12x12 prints of the album art. but the price for 7 AAA KG cuts is pretty good. they pressed less than 750 copies.Thelonious Monk-The Riverside Tenor Sessions-Vinyl Box Sets|Acoustic Sounds

An old Sterling cut. I have a '77 that sounds good.Oh ye of the golden ears, not looking for a "definitive" pressing, but any input on a good pressing of Exodus, not including UHRQ or MoFi............or are either of those worth the extra scratch.
If you do want the UHQR they were selling them (and had ~10) at the Tuff Gong store in Montego Bay Airport in late November. Might be worth a call as I don’t think they were moving many.An old Sterling cut. I have a '77 that sounds good.
That is worth a call. I got one when the Salina grid crashed. If you do want the UHQR they were selling them (and had ~10) at the Tuff Gong store in Montego Bay Airport in late November. Might be worth a call as I don’t think they were moving many.

It’s so good! The Live show that was released with the Let It Bleed edition (but on CD) is the Mats live show that was released for RSD. I picked it up with everything else yesterday but it seems like there are plenty of copies floating around, might be worth picking on when it inevitably goes to m sale in few months the the show is fantastic! That Ed Stasium mix of Tim by The Replacement.... the CB cut is
Thanks to whoever pointed this out a while back. I located a reasonably priced copy and spinning now. This is a thing of beauty.

Nice setup! I listened to the BG ORG last week and really loved it's depth. Just sounded very rich and robust.Listening to the ORG mono Bernie cut (45) (side 1 only) with the KG Stereo RHF.
The BG mono was played on my AT33MONO and has an incredible authority of sound. Very grand. Deep low end, although muddy on the bottom. Tyner's keys have a deep, rich and striking sound. It's an excellent record with the title track split FUBAR withstanding.
The KG cut has much more cymbal resolution in the front, piano is missing out with those rich keys (but I recall it improves on side 2). Still a decent piano presentation but feels lacking in it's full potential to me. Instruments are separated really well. Art Davis on bass is killing it with his solo and other playing. Bass is A+.
Both are great and a little different. I likely will keep both since I really like this Coltrane album.
The two mastering engineers seem to squeeze the tape juice pretty well IMO. I enjoyed hearing the difference in the two formats.

Yeah I have some posts on the rack build in HW. Was a cool project.Nice setup! I listened to the BG ORG last week and really loved it's depth. Just sounded very rich and robust.
This is pretty typical for KG as I hear his work. Yes, depends on the album, but it’s how most of his stuff sounds relative to/compared to the other people doing reissues these days. The KG cut has much more cymbal resolution in the front, piano is missing out with those rich keys (but I recall it improves on side 2).
