Definitive Audiophile pressings

Have they changed it? I thought in the past when I've tried to check out PayPal - b/o or pre - they'd say that it couldn't b/c it wasn't in stock. I may also be misremembering it for MusicDirect's policy.
What I recall seeing is that PayPal takes the funds and it gets finalized in PayPal when they ship, I may be wrong its been a while. But I know it is a little different than if you pay with a CC directly.

Is it just me/my system, but is there a ton of sibilance on “Strange Meadow Lark” on Time Out?

Also on a couple tracks of Tea For the Tillerman (I have the 33).

I’ve been wanting to ask if this is an indication of something wrong with one of my components, if I have the volume too high, or if it’s just part of the pressing.
an anyone guide me?
I have the 45rpm and can't remember hearing it on Time Out. I'll double check it later today. All I remember is that it sounds really really great. The drums and cymbals are amazing on it.

Sorry to report I don't hear anything wrong on that track. I cranked the volume higher than I normally do and I can't hear any sibilance either.

Edit: I was hearing lots (LOTS!) of sibilance on Chili Gonzales - Piano Solo before when I was using the stock Concept MM cart. I don't hear it anymore that I use the 2M Bronze. I think my tracking force was off also. Maybe it would be your cart?

I hope not. I just replaced 2m Red with Blue in late October.
I’ve got tracking force at 1.8 grams.

Rickie Lee Jones-It’s Like This 45. Stunning in the room, acoustic bass is amazing.
Just bought the AP Ella & Louis 45, so damn excited to hear it in all of its glory. On another note my fiance just said

"I don't want to have to deal with the drama that would come along with me buying you bad pressings for your Christmas gifts, so heres $200, go crazy" :ROFLMAO:

So back to Acoustic Sounds I go lmfao. Thinking of finally grabbing LA Woman, what are everyone's favorite AP pressings?

So is it possible I just have a poor quality press that slipped through QC?
Or is there something else that could explain it?

The blue is a decent stylus/cart but the ortofons are more of a bright and detailed sound profile and I felt that the blue can tend towards sibilant on higher notes, particularly on a piano or higher in the vocal range. I don’t know if that applies to the music you’re listening to because I’m not familiar with it.

I would try to listen to your copy on a friends system if you can. If you pop the red back in, do you hear the same? Do you hear sibilance on other piano-heavy records? I know @MikeH has only praise for Tea for the Tillerman, so I doubt he would hear sibilance on that record as well. I guess I would try fiddling with the cart a bit (VTA, play with tracking a bit...) and see if that changes things. It's not fun, I know!

Yea I don’t recall any sibilance on my copy either. I have the 2011 33rpm 200g pressing.

not vinyl but worth noting

so it seems like acoustic sounds is ending their super hirez downloads on new years, now every digital file on there is 20% off.. so if there is a DSD or or hires file you want from them (such as analogue productions)..

their main reason is because of streaming gaining more relevance now (expect MQA or qobuz hires to be the new standard in audiophile world it seems) and the music modenization act of 2018 asking for fees and reports

Looks like Intervention Records has more of their excellent Flying Burrito Brothers’ Gilded Palace of Sin reissue back in stock.
