Definitive Audiophile pressings

I hope they repress them. I got Europe 72 as well. So many good titles from Rhino and RTI. I’ve been buying up a lot of the Rhino x KG cuts from the past few years lately and you can still find quite a few of them. Moondance though is likely the CA cut which still sounds great but isn’t AAA

Are there any out there still available, that I might have missed? Any reccomendations?

Did anyone spot the Craft One Step?

There are quite a lot of Rhino x KG or BG cuts in the past few years. I grabbed a bunch of Van Morrison ones (the aforementioned Moondance and I also grabbed Van Morrison - His Band And The Street Choir:

and the Talking Heads '77 by KG and pressed at RTI:

I've been going back and looking at the Rhino SYEOR series as well as Rocktober to try to grab some things that I like that might go out of stock soon. I think a bunch of the other Talking Heads reissues are up next on my list.

The KG cut of Bad Company's first album is pretty awesome too. AAA Rhino. I got it sealed pretty cheapish on discogs not long ago. His cut of Machine Head is great too although not AAA.

...Also the Chris Bellman Rhino cut of Tom Petty's first album is perhaps the best sounding Rhino reissue I've ever heard. Maybe either that or Love Forever Changes, both Bellman I think.

EDIT: of course the KG Electric Warrior too

I have an OG press of that from 1989 that cost me €10 in my local and is pressed on tissue paper thin vinyl but smokes 99% of modern represses, it’s fantastic!
Some of those really early thin records sound incredible. I have a copy of Tom Waits - Nighthawks at the Diner that sounds absolutely amazing and I feel like I could bend it in half.

Yeah it and Tracy Chapman self titled from the year before are two of the best sounding records I own and they’re both pressed on really thin vinyl. A lot of expertise in mastering and pressing vinyl was lost in the 90s and 00s!

I've got the Bellman from a few years back and it's fantastic, as is the Bellman Pallas Torpedoes.

I have that damn the torpedos as well and it is fantastic, another bargain it was on Back in Black over here and I got it in a sale on a visit home for £10! I do need to get a copy of the debut ASAP.

Curious, was the Back in Black still Pallas pressed?

It says both manufactured by Pallas and pressed by Record Industry so I don’t know what that’s all about!

It does have P. USA in the dead wax and the Pallas catalogue number but also the Record Industry catalogue number so my only definitive answer is

🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah, this is super exciting. Craft has the rights to all those great Riverside and Prestige albums, plus all the CCR and non-atlantic Stax records.

SPOILERS:
Someone on SHF found an unpublished page with the press release about the first title they're gonna do in February. Coltrane's Lush Life.

Anyone have any ideas for what to do when the center hole cut is too small? I just received that 2013 “In a Silent Way” and had to take the whole spindle and platter off in order to release that thing.

To be fair, I knew I was in deep shit when I forced it on in the first place - instant regret.

Are Pro-Ject tables known to have this issue more frequently? Or are all spindles the same exact dimensions

Interesting...I have been very close to picking up the DCC press of Lush Life lately but might pick this up depending on the price...

I use a nail file on my African records like that. But don't know if that's recommended for something more special. It works well though...
