Definitive Audiophile pressings

Anyone have any ideas for what to do when the center hole cut is too small? I just received that 2013 “In a Silent Way” and had to take the whole spindle and platter off in order to release that thing.

To be fair, I knew I was in deep shit when I forced it on in the first place - instant regret.

Are Pro-Ject tables known to have this issue more frequently? Or are all spindles the same exact dimensions
This happens a lot on my TT as well (I have a rebuilt Thorens). Maybe not the best thing to do, but I usually take a bic pen or something of similar diameter and push + twist it a little bit to widen the hole slightly.

It happens sometimes with all tables, the hole is cut a bit too tight. Insert a standard bic biro into the hole as far as it will go without forcing and then wiggle and rotate it to open up the hole. Spin the vinyl around and do the same on the other side.

Well the MoFI and Impex 1 steps set the standard at $125 per release. I assume Craft will do the same. But of course those prices skyrocket once they sell out.

The MoFis are 5,000+ copies each pressing. I think they have gone up to 9,000 copies with Dylan. I'm with @Mather --I think these will be even more expensive...

I'm going to say $175 USD minimum. Likely more like $250.
I do think that Craft is more reasonable price-wise than other labels. I'd be surprised if they charge $250 for a single album when the entire Chet/Coltrane/Miles box sets were far less than that from what I recall. I think the entire Chet box was $150 retail and sold for less than that elsewhere. I also bet that the next ones will have more copies if this one sells well...I do expect this to sell out quickly unless the price is astronomical.

I agree, I hope it's not, but 1000 copies is such a low run for something this relatively expensive to produce...

They have to make multiple lacquers/plates to get to 5000 though. Didn't they say they only do 1000 or 500 per plate? Since all things are equal except for that process, I don't think it's a given that it would cost more.

Of course you guys know I am far from convinced the price isn't already astronomically higher than cost for one-steps, but we don't need to argue about that again.

The first One Steps were somewhere around that number pressed and I believe those started at $95. Of course that was awhile ago...but...as @dhodo said, they are likely only doing 1 stamper.

I still think it'll be $125. That's what those things go for regardless of the pressing size. Heck, Music Matters "only" charged like $75 for their SRX releases and there were less than 500 of those things actually pressed.

This. Don’t get too cute - some people start getting crazy with a rat tail or needle file which is probably overkill. That hole needs a lot less material removed than you think. If a pen doesn’t give you the clearance you need, an xacto blade held perpendicular to the hole wall (think scraping, not cutting) with a couple light turns will do the trick.

Oh wow! Yet another overpriced audiophile reissue series focusing almost entirely on pre 80s music, just what the world of vinyl needs 🙄
I think the one that pissed me off the most was when mofi pressed Dylans early work in stereo.... Then Mono after I'd already bought 4 of the big expensive bastards
