Definitive Audiophile pressings

And Plaidroom's listing means they have them in hand, they've really curtailed on preorders except for their own stuff.

Yes. Plaidroom have cut way back on preorders. I’m hoping it is only temporary due to excessive work load. They do such a good job on packing that I get way less shipping damage from them.

And, on the rare occasion I’ve had freak damage they have bent over backwards to make it right.

Yeah, they're my favorite to order from but lack of pre-orders has reduced the number of my orders from them

John Coltrane’s One-Step Lush Room has sold out! I am extremely excited to give this one a spin! Especially after my turntable has a new upgraded cartridge, and has been properly realigned!

I’ve got a question! Has that Miles Davis UHQR Analogue Productions Kind Of Blue gone on sale yet? I want to grab the single LP pressing one for USD$100!

Hey @NathanRicaud , do you know Audiophile Reference Recordings | Home Page they have the Mofi KOB for A $145 .

You can call and preorder from acoustic sounds I believe but no, it hasn’t gone on sale yet technically. There’s no indication of release date or anything. I’m sure you’ll see it posted here as soon as it’s up though.

Hey! Thanks so much for sending me the link! I leave only 5 minutes from this store and it’s my local actually, especially for MoFi pressings!

I’ve got the MoFi Kind Of Blues 2LP already, but I love that album so much that I’m keen to upgrade to the UHQR pressing! I would like a single LP pressing of Kind of Blue as well! I’ve also got the MOV pressing of Kind of Blue which is great!

I want Kind of Blue to be an album I compare different high quality pressings to!

I need a new copy of The Band self titled. Looks like the mofi version isn't an original master recording. So what's the best copy around?

Recent? The MOFI. If you're going to get caught up on provenance then, sure, skip it.

If you want the best-sounding recent copy - regardless of how that sound is achieved - get the MOFI.

Basically, my opinion is don't get in your own way getting caught up on pedantry.

The Mofi is very very good.

thanks

I asked it that way in case there was a better version since sometimes the non og master recordings are hit or miss.

Now to see if there are any mofi ones around that aren't stupidly expensive.

thanks

I haven't heard either but a cheaper option might be the 50th anniversary Chris Bellman cut. I've heard good things about this and it can still be picked up pretty cheaply. Someone else on here might have a clearer idea of how they compare?

Edit-
There is an analogue planet review & comparison of the big pink mofi vs 5oth anniversary, I'm not sure if the same thinking stands for s/t. His conclusion seems like a close call, MoFi edges it, but buy both if you can :)
