I don't understand this.
BG is not an audiophile philanthropist. He is in business to make money, by charging for his time and name.
He has his own company. He has never been an employee of MOFI.
BG, like KG, RKS, and many others, is a hired gun paid an hourly fee. When Columbia contracted him to master the original Thriller, they paid him two hours of his time. They have no obligation, nor should they, advise him when they license out a recording he previously mastered.
He doesn't 'consult' with other companies.
If he were to be involved, even to the extent of giving advice he would want credit, and for that he would want money.
MOFI don't need or want another big cost as they already have good people on staff they pay salaries to.
And, they don't want his advice. They aren't trying to duplicate the original BG mastering. The MOFI brand is to do it better.
I don't really care if someone has a hate on for MOFI, it has no impact on my life. But for what it's worth, MOFI started the entire category of 'audiophile remastering'. If MOFI hadn't started it, it would not exist, and all those records you and I buy - those so-called 'Definitive Audiophile Pressings' - would not exist. Chad would still be shilling gold CD's out of his little warehouse in Kansas, newbie 45MikeVape would not have his YouTube following, and so on. It all started with MOFI.
