Fucking bingo bango yes.@Mather it does sound incredible. It’s kind of like the sets in a Kubrick film though. Everything is too clean and bright. The dynamics are crazy and I like it a lot more than I did streaming. I like the first three songs a lot and then it all gets a little sleepy time. Ride Across the River is pretty epic.
Hell it made the senns sound like they are revealing WHICH THEY ABSOLUTELY ARE NOT. So it will be cool to put it through its paces in the B&Ws and the Elacs (really curious to see what their nuetrality does for it). I love hearing all the tones and effects on the guitars, it’s fun to get lost in.

Would you have been happier buying a good Billy Joel record? There is a repress…Ok... I'm only a little bit into the new Portishead Roseland pressing but my initial impression is... it IS much cleaner than the MOV and seems to have a more natural AAA sound vs the very digital MOV however I think nearly all of the live charm and atmosphere is gone on this new pressing. On the surface it sounds much better than the MOV in my opinion but it sounds so much more polished that it's kinda missing that wonderful smokey live ethereal atmosphere that the original pressing has. They've cut out almost all of the crowd noise and in doing so they've almost neutered what in my mind made this recording so interesting, the intimate cocktail bar atmosphere that it had, that's gone... I think arguably it sounds "cleaner" than the MOV but I don't think it actually sounds "better". If it's me, I stick with the MOV.
Also, I'd just like all of you who forced me to buy this to suck it.
Respectfully.
Suck it.

Having not heard the MOV, I'll concur that the first few songs on this did not sound live to me because they're completely missing crowd noise. They sound incredible but don't recreate that live feel.Ok... I gotta listen through the whole album I only listened to the first disc last night. It's tough because it really does sound excellent. Far more natural sound compared to the MOV. But the MOV sets such a scene...Which one are you keeping? Or both?

Mr is an odd word to see in front of Chad around here.My Music Direct order of the Mofi 2 LP Derek and the Dominos - Layla from May 2021 was finally cancelled. I guess it’s not getting repressed?
