Chet Hanks' Filmography Buff
I believe they're not just clones. There's some redesign/revoicing going on.Isn't the Mastertracker just a rebodied Vm540ml/740ml? If so would going straight to the horses mouth not be more cost effective?

$300/ 400 worth though? It may be cheaper to buy in a package with the deck but surely there's economies there that suggests that even at $300 the 740ml isn't going to sound that different (and I'm not just saying that because I own one and really, really like it)I believe they're not just clones. That I cannot say!$300/ 400 worth though? It may be cheaper to buy in a package with the deck but surely there's economies there that suggests that even at $300 the 740ml isn't going to sound that different (and I'm not just saying that because I own one and really, really like it)
hana SL it is then (i mostly just need a good turntable with a tonearm that can support something that is legit a big upgrade from the cheaper audiotechnicas or ortofon 2M)Isn't the Mastertracker just a rebodied Vm540ml/740ml? JumpersHey guys, technical question. I've got an old pair of Energy C2s that I'm going to give to a buddy. But I've long since lost the... Bi amp connectors? Whatever you call to connect red to red and black to black on the back if the speaker isn't being bi amped... which it won't be.
THAT'S THE ONE!Jumpers
THAT'S THE ONE!
fuck those things... How dare they not be anywhere I looked for them.
Correct. Allen Perkins (Spiral Groove) designed them and they are built to his specifications by a third party. There is no equivalent in the manufacturer’s own line.I believe they're not just clones. There's some redesign/revoicing going on.
mostly because everyone kept telling me "buy an AT95ML they are cheaper and better than the more expensive stuff" so i got confused when i just want to get the popular stuff
I mean, AT is the popular stuff.mostly because everyone kept telling me "buy an AT95ML they are cheaper and better than the more expensive stuff" so i got confused when i just want to get the popular stuff
but the 2M blue is also the popular stuff and i wanted that and people were arguing about grado being better and AT being better and audiophile magazines and journalist saying another thing and i just want to have the best i can for what i can doI mean, AT is the popular stuff.
Well, the first lesson to learn is that everyone has an opinion and ultimately you've gotta trust your own ear.but the 2M blue is also the popular stuff and i wanted that and people were arguing about grado being better and AT being better and audiophile magazines and journalist saying another thing and i just want to have the best i can for what i can do

it seems my common sound signature is a decent amount of bass but more relaxed, and a lot more of a focus on the treble and upper mids.. it took someone to actually show me that i seemed to have preferred that sound through an EQ of another headphone and to try out the grados at a hifi shop that i realized that was what i liked (also they had a 4K tv and it made my dad want one SO MUCH.. and now he owns one)...Well, the first lesson to learn is that everyone has an opinion and ultimately you've gotta trust your own ear.
The 2M Blue's a good cart, and probably better suited for the sound signature you seem to enjoy. I just listened to a friend's today, on an SL-1500C, and it sounded great.
tbh i dunno how rare that is... its mostly if you are known for a lot of hot takes that you end up like that (see malachi lui hating on belafonte and defending kanye and getting harassed for that). most of the big audiophile reviewers (Gutenberg, Fremer, Reichert, Zeos, DMS, the HEADPHONE show) dont get that much hate mail or at least dont make it publicI don’t know about other reviewers but Andrew Robinson appears to receive a lot of hate mail and I’ve seen him say even death threats. Is that common in the audiophile world? I know some of his views tend to counter what the majority believe but it all seems a bit extreme.
I don't think that's specific to audiophiles. It seems that we polarize everything from politics to the old "boxers or briefs" debate to the point that we group people into those who perfectly agree with us on everything and those who deserve death.I don’t know about other reviewers but Andrew Robinson appears to receive a lot of hate mail and I’ve seen him say even death threats.
