Then I would consider getting an RCM, because I'm assuming all the solution is not coming out of the grooves of the album, or check your SC process. The Chisto from the deal a few months ago.

I'll have to see if I can take some pictures but I suspect that the suction towards the middle of the record isn't as strong as towards the outside of the record. The outside dries almost completely after one pass but the middle can take as much as 5 passes to be completely dry (90% is removed in the first pass though.)That's odd. I use the Chisto solution with a Record Doctor vacuum cleaner. I've cleaned hundreds of records with that combo, many from the 60s and 70s that have never been cleaned, and I've never had white streaks like you describe. Occasionally some older records will make some tiny bubbles, but a second cleaning takes care of that.
Good point on the return policy by @HayesWeighsIn.I need some help on a new turntable. Based on the rave reviews on this forum I purchased the Wharfedale Lintons and am loving them. They are connected to a Yamaha Cr1020 and a Uturn basic. I am having issue with the Uturn (motor is loud, it Hums more than it should). I currently have a Fluance RT85 on preorder which I have heard mainly good things, but was reading some more mixed reviews on some other forums and am starting to wonder if it is the best option. I would like to stick as close to possible to $500. I was ready more on the updated Project Carbon Evo and that seems very intriguing. I know there are a number of other tables in the price range as well. One thing I would really prefer is auto speed switch as I hate manually changing the belt on the Uturn. Other thought would be vintage. On my other system I have a Dual 1229 that I really like. Thanks in advance for any advice.
What do you like about this one? I've always been under the impression (or misconception?) That DJ style tables don't make good audiophile tables? So it's interesting to see this one brought up twice today.Good point on the return policy by @HayesWeighsIn.
That said, I will always push the Pioneer PLX1000 at the $500ish price point.........big fan.

Its a DJ style table because it's been embraced by that group as such, but way before the PLX, it's weight and motor lend itself well to that DJ scene. BUT, those things are also pluses for an "Audiophile" tableWhat do you like about this one? I've always been under the impression (or misconception?) At $500, the Fluance is the best deal out there. Up from there, the Pioneer PLX-1000 is a great choice. Another option would because restored Dual from Bill at fixmydual.com. I understand your love of the 1229, I had one myself 35 or so years ago.I need some help on a new turntable. I know it is a stupid reason, but I do not love the look of the pioneer. I was considering it as well, but feel like it does not fit with the room.Good point on the return policy by @HayesWeighsIn.

I get it, and that's one of those check boxes we all have........stupid or not, you should get what you want based on your preferencesI know it is a stupid reason, but I do not love the look of the pioneer. I was considering it as well, but feel like it does not fit with the room.
Not stupid. Visual aesthetics matter too, and you'll have to live with it.I know it is a stupid reason, but I do not love the look of the pioneer. I was considering it as well, but feel like it does not fit with the room.
Overall consensus is the Fluance > Project? At $500, the Fluance is the best deal out there. Up from there, the Pioneer PLX-1000 is a great choice. Another option would because restored Dual from Bill at fixmydual.com. I understand your love of the 1229, I had one myself 35 or so years ago.
That has been my general impression.Overall consensus is the Fluance > Project?
Nope. The Technics are audiophile turntables. Designed to be. They were adopted by club DJs due their excellent isolation from vibration and ruggedness.Technics are DJ-style tables!
I’d go Fluance. You also get a $236 cartridge on the $499 price which is amazing.Overall consensus is the Fluance > Project?
I suppose my general point was that most of the things about the PLX that people associate with "DJ tables" are actually just things it has in common with Technics decks.Nope. Would you go Fluance over the Dual from fixmydual. Not sure what they charge assuming it it is around same price as the Fluance.I’d go Fluance. You also get a $236 cartridge on the $499 price which is amazing.
I really like the Dual, but a rebuilt one will cost more. A cheaper one that needs restoration isn’t recommended.Would you go Fluance over the Dual from fixmydual. Not sure what they charge assuming it it is around same price as the Fluance.
Hivinyws will tell you to get a P1 instead of a fluance or project
Something about cartridge not being the end all be all the rega tonearms infamous quality even though the cartridge is just a rebranded audio technica (audiophile man suggests a project instead for the us but that's more because he has no experience with fluance)
