Hi everyone,
Fair warning I am still a total noob in regards to equipment, but instead of trying my luck and not reaching out for help, I thought I would come post here first since ya'll are so helpful...
I have a Sony ps-lx310bt. I have only been collecting and spinning for the past year or so, and it has treated me well as a starter player. However, when I went to spin a record today, a heavily distorted sound was coming out of my speakers, phooey. Like, something is totally not right here. I tested multiple, brand-new records, and reconnected all speaker wires etc...still sounds awful, even through my studio headphones, which tells me it's not my bookshelf speakers. So, I think that the cartridge/stylus needs to be replaced (If you think that the issue is due to something else, feel free to let me know). I don't mind upgrading the cartridge anyway cause the stock one on this player is kinda a POS.
So...any recommendations that will not break the bank? I'm open to all price points, honestly. However I would probably stay away from anything triple digits. Again, my turntable is a
Sony ps-lx310bt. The manual that came with the player said that the only replacement I can buy is the same exact one straight from the Sony warehouse, however I feel like that's total BS. Any help would be so appreciated so thank you in advance!
