that way i could use the extra money on better speaker wireI'd give the E3 a shot, I was running it on my PLX and it was pretty solid.

I have a Goldring E3 and really like it. Easy set up, great sound. Also, if you don't have to pay VAT for a purchase from the UK,, then Juno Records has great pricing on the E3, and if you click for a better price they'll send you a code for an additional 10% off.The Goldring E3 is interesting because its a low risk pick at the 120€ its going to cost vs. the 300 of the Opus 3.

Smart of you to post this. If your dad gets busted buying blow, here’s his defense. Just get the jury to go listen to the SACD and there’s his not guilty verdict.Final dad audiophile stereo update. The last part of his gift was the Kind Of Blue Mofi SACD. It's one of his favorite albums. He's spinning it right now and just sent me this:
"Miles has arrived. The presence is so real I'm afraid I may have to score some blow just to keep him happy."
So, if you've ever looked at my posts and thought: "What the fuck is wrong with that guy? Where did he come from?"
There's your answer.
The Thorens TD-1601 looks good too.At that price point the 1200G should always be on the list, it's a workhorse, that replaceable head shell is a big bonus. I think form and function hit a crossroad with the DJ style tables. If I had to choose one, I think I would be hard pressed to pass on a more "stylish" design over the head shell. The Funk Firm is a really nice, "simple", clean, eye catching design for sure
I was just able to score a Bryston BP-1.5 for a lower cost than expected. I’ve been curious about how a Bryston separate would perform in my main rig as I love the phono in my Bryston integrated.Yikes! I'm looking at $2300 plus tax for the BP2 MM and PS3 power supply and $3050 plus tax for BP2 MM / MC and PS3...not gonna happen
Here is what my VPI dealer said:I love the look of the classic but I honestly can't find it for sale anywhere up here. Was it discontinued?
When you get into the $4k territory, all of the turntables are good. It just comes down to personal preference.A sucker for the contrary, at about $4k I’d be scouting for a gently used Luxman PD-171A. I loved this quote in Tone Publications:
“This is no ordinary record player. Much as I like the new $4,000 Technics SL-1200G, the difference in aesthetic and fine machining quality is like parking a Kia next to a Porsche GT3.”

You don't even have to play a record on the Luxman PD-171A to know it's unique. Taking it out of its deliberately packaged container, with small bags for every individual part that goes with it - no detail, no matter how little is left unturned. After lifting the heavy base unto your rack or...www.tonepublications.com
I’m trying to build my forever system, so I won’t have much gear for sale at all. But just so everyone knows, good gear is advertised here. Other stuff went to eBay.
Hens teeth, but I really wanted a 1210G. Thankfully they are bringing them out here. I’m just waiting for someone to have them in stock. I played the preorder game with Music Direct for 6 months on a 1200G and they never could deliver.Did you ever manage to get hold of a 1200G or are they still like hens teeth your side of the pond.
More premium= two full systems like @AnthonyIMy amp switch is on the fritz. Guess it's time to open the thing up and get at it with some Deoxit.
I really wish there were a more premium solution for my two-amplifier problem.
Townhouse and very limited space, unfortunately.
