Oh good! Glad to hear it’s playing ball for you. I’ve heard of folks streaming say a 96K album, but unless you’ve manually set your DAC to 96, it’ll downsample to whatever you have the hardware set to.

Yeah my DAC dongle just does all the unfolding etc itself, then just gives me an LED to indicate the rough bitrate.
Green: indicates the audio sample rate is 48kHz or less.
Red: indicates hi-res lossless playback.(Hi-res lossless refers to PCM 88.2kHz~384 kHz, or DSD64~DSD256.)
Magenta: indicates the M15 is performing the final unfold of an MQA Core stream.

Speaking of storing gobs of stuff on ye ole phone; I convert FLAC to Opus. Curious if the hi-res purists can hear the degradation with this codec set at levels that are theoretically beyond transparent? I cannot while I can 8/10 pick out a 320kpbs cbr MP3 from a FLAC. I'll say I avoid 24-bit flacs as much as possible because I see zero value in the additional disk space.

@MattHasIdeas not sure where you ended up with considering a new turntable but I will say the Theory has met and exceeded my expectations. If you like the look and feel of the older Orbit then this a great step up. I'm not saying it beats the spec sheet of the StudioDeck, but I have thoroughly enjoyed the sound I'm getting and the flexibility to upgrade to bigger and better carts was a selling point.

A small thing that matters IMO that I just noticed by viewing this photo again (thanks for sharing, @folsom_lives!) are the large headshell connectors and little bit of slack on the leads. That will make swapping carts much easier.

Oh yeah, there is so much more room to grab those wires. Feels much more secure even when doing it with my fingers rather than needle nose pliers.

So. Thinking this year I start icing my main system and start on my secondary rig for my office.
First thing being first, looking for a bit of an endgame amp for the main system. Bearing in mind I have no intention on rewiring my house, I want to get into something good but unfussy. Solid state, no need to bring tubes into this. 2-channel stereo, no need for digital/AVS sorta crap. We like simple.
It’s just pushing my table via the Sutherland Insight and long-term wise looking at something that will comfortably push the JBL L100s or equivalent.
Any thoughts on where to start? Looking for favs (or stay-away from this advice).

Almost anything can drive the L100s, they're pretty efficient. I think recommended is like 50 watts per channel? Maybe? Something along those lines.

That’s a good question, because I know zippity-do-fuck about amps. So part of this will be budgeting I think. I know I don’t need a $5k McIntosh. But I’m not sure what I do need. Maybe in the $2k neighborhood? Am I over- or under- spending given what it’s pairing with (PLX with extra toys/Goldring 1042, Insight) in a room that’s not enormous?
Any thoughts would be welcome.
