Look… this literally happened half an hour ago…

Manager 1 texts me about an issue with the stuff at work.

I tell manager 1 what to do about problem

Manager 2 texts me about how to resolve an issue like manager 1 was having

I asked manager 2 if it was what manager 1 was working on

I go to group manager text tell all the managers to use that text for ?s re: upgrade there so I don’t have to do double work

15 minutes later manager 2 texts me random ass photo of it not doing what it is supposed to do

I’m like goddamitt when has it ever done anything in 15 minutes?

It’s funny I kinda went in the other directions. SACD playback is just a whole bag of hurt and after years of never quite finding what I wanted in an SACD machine (without spending €7.5k which i wasn’t doing) so I got a really fancy redbook transport instead so I could use the DAC already built into my preamp and also it was pretty. Don’t regret it for a second. Especially as all but 2 of the SACDs were hybrid and the CD layer on them through the transport and DAC was better than the SACDs on the SACD player I used to use.

You know the DIRAC module is also a BlueOS module so you're effectively getting the same functionality as the bluesound node loads of people on here already have?

Oh trust me, I get it. But definitely if you're getting that amp with the option of the Dirac module. Try that first before you start dropping thousands on room treatments. It really does do a pretty major amount of sorcery when it comes to fixing room deficiencies.

DIRAC does intrigue me. More so because of what you have said that anything else because the core idea of digitising vinyl is still a bit odd to me.

I’m not getting rid of tubes so it’d have to be built into the preamp and there’s nothing that quite interests me enough yet. The NAD C one is a bit plain jane and doesn’t have balanced inputs or the right digital inputs for its DAC. Maybe if they refresh the M line but the current preamp in it doesn’t do DIRAC.
 
From what I can figure out bluos is good for networking multiple sources in your house and the thing on the marantz is better at a single system. I’m not ever going to have multiple systems in the house. I’m really only getting the bluos because they don’t give me the option not to.

Honestly both have their pros and cons as interfaces but ultimately neither is as slick or clean to use as roon or sonos. I gotta say I find the HEOS in my dads marantz a bit of a pig, wasn’t a fan. Personally I’d be more likely to use either of them as an endpoint for Spotify Connect/Tidal Connect/AirPlay and only use their own interface for initial network connection and set up.

I mean I’m just getting because I have cds and would buy saves if I could play them and DID I MENTION THAT ITS PRETTY?
