Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

Hell yeah, @Mather! Congrats! I've been overseas the last week, chiming in late here, but I have the style that goes over the entirety of the table and it looks absolutely badass.
AMAZING. I still trying to decide what will work best considering it's smack dab in the middle of my livingroom. I want that style but it MAY just be too massive for the current placement. Might have to be the smaller one for now... we shall see. Other issue is the top of my cabinet is actually painted white. So the larger lexan box will likely eventually scratch the finish over time. I could try to put little bumpers on it but I think over time they'll shift and the adhesive will start to get all over everything.

On another note I did a few more searches of the 90’s pantsuit phono stage online and actually came across some better lit photos that show off the metal facing more accurately and yeah I think I'm leaning silver now. It's actually much more unfinished metal than it is silver paint in terms of the look, I can deal with that.

Also wanted to say, I think the speed controller is totally overkill for the Classic. If the stability ain't there with a platter of that size.....!
Yeah I read up on it and it seems like there's not much point I agree. It was my initial plan when I didn't think I'd get much for my trades and didn't know what else to get. But since I decided to add my Aria stage to the trade in package it puts me up to about $2850 in trade value for the old speakers, TT and stage, so that gets me like 2/3rds of the way to the JC3+. So it makes sense to go that route instead.

Yeah brushed aluminium or just unfinished metal is the silver aesthetic I’m into. If they’re painting I’d rather a colour, preferably Matt white for my tastes.

Just got pricing back on the JC3+. After trades I can get it for $650. Of course it's out of stock on the entire continent HOWEVER, at some point... it won't be. Giddy up.
My money is on you getting your JC3+ long before I get my Decware I ordered a couple of months ago. Like, a year before I do.

Rub it in why don’t ya? 🤪

Yeah I don't really know. Parasound were just recently sold so there could be any number of reasons for delays. But it's fine I don't mind running the table on the current setup just to see what's what.

Just boxed up the old Revel F35s. Man it is NOT EASY to rebox tall floor standing glossy white speakers by yourself. That was stressful AF.

What did you get to replace your Revels?

And a proper stereo amp 😝
Yes yes FINE YES but that also requires a new entire room so that may require a new entire HOUSE. I have been considering a basement move for the system at some point but the L shaped couch down there stretches right to the front of the room so it pretty much would block one speaker. Then there's also the ever present giant rock wall of echoes.

All joking apart everyone has to make compromises somewhere along the line unless you are building a listening room from the ground up, so if it works for you then that’s the main thing!

Source first anyway and you’re nailing that!

I’m interested in how you sell the house move so that you get a dedicated listening to Mrs Mather…

Yeah totally. One of the things I’m very cognisant of, even living on my own, is that my living room is a living room and I only have one because it’s a flat. I don’t want to live in a completely sterile, ugly listening room. I want to live in somewhere that it’s nice to be in to watch tv or to have people over or to cook and eat in too.

Yeah agreed.. What I would love is the ability to get the big L100s out off walls and into a nice rectangular room. Which I totally have downstairs but the existing couch is massive and an L shape which would block the right speaker. So although the room is a good shape, the couch kinda kills it.
