Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

They exist, but I can’t think of which ones off the top of my head. I’m thinking British or European though.
I figured they might and was ready to be schooled. Definitely less than common though. Curious would a bypass in an integrated for a phono stage work like the bypass in a turntable with built-in and probably be a source of additional noise?

I wouldn’t want a table with a built in phono stage, but I’d think you are better off having the bypass on the turntable. I also think you are better off with a mono switch on the phono stage as opposed to on an integrated amp or line stage.

I mean, I don't currently have either. lol. Despite my choice of integrated amp which really had to do with my realistic upgrade path and the peculiarities of my room's setup... I do listen to you!

So sadly my preamp/DAC is acting the bollox, is out of warranty, and it’s likely a PCB issue that will need me to cover shipping to the uk, for repairs and parts, and shipping back.

Really is money I don’t need to spend but unless someone at PS Audio knows a simple fix I’m likely going to have to get a new preamp/DAC or each individually.

Currently looking at Audio GD and wondering if anyone knows of them or has any thoughts? Their R27RE is probably a bit more than I want to spend but seems to fit the bill better than anything else I’ve seen.

Also open to any solid alternative recommendations!

what features are you looking for in a DAC? i really like the Denafrips still...

I2S over HDMI and USB inputs and preferably balanced. I like the look of denafrips and considered them but the Pontus + preamp takes me beyond what i want to spend…
Ah yea....didn't realize you were replacing preamp AND DAC. I may eventually upgrade my main setup to the Pontus and move my Ares to my office...but that's a pretty far down the line move for me right now.

Yeah the PS Audio is both and so I need both and denafrips don’t do a combi lol.

I’m still hoping PS Audio can come back to me with some suggestions. It does work but with random glitches and errors occuring.

Last few days it goes a bit shitso after an hour. Sound cuts, random clicking (sounds like a relay opening and closing) and the display goes bonkers. Unplug it and after 5 minutes plug it back in again and it starts working. Not sure what to make of it.

What’s it doing? Shutting down/red logo? If so, I know the fix.
