Imma catch that dragon. If I had taken every dollar ever spent on records and gear and instead put it into live music I just wonder. This selling of emotional music on a medium other than direct to ear from the performer seems like chasing some dragon.
I’ve never had to ask anyone to stop talking so loud while I was spinning a record though. If I had taken every dollar ever spent on records and gear and instead put it into live music I just wonder. This selling of emotional music on a medium other than direct to ear from the performer seems like chasing some dragon.
No children in the bar please!I’ve never had to ask anyone to stop talking so loud while I was spinning a record though.
@nolalady is this how you found out that flower guy is a big Imagine Dragons fan?If I had taken every dollar ever spent on records and gear and instead put it into live music I just wonder. low hanging fruit - why do I need a force tracking scale for my crosley, why do i need a preamp for my crosley? My knife to open my records cost more than my turntable... etc...
Oh shit. I completely forgot about the speakers...“You won’t need speakers either as it has built-in ones”
am i streaming the vinyl to my phone or spotify to the crosley?Bluetooth capabilities, which allows you to connect your phone and stream music.
I think my phones speaker is probably better than the built in suitcase players.am i streaming the vinyl to my phone or spotify to the crosley?
This was my thought, I know for a fact my current iphone sounds better than my daughter's crosley did.I think my phones speaker is probably better than the built in suitcase players.
At least it’s consistent for them. I don’t like most of the music on their “lists” either.um guys, I have lots of notes:

The Washington Post recently ran an article regarding CD collecting:Yeah I totally get all of that. I was a year without CDs at all after the previous one died and before I bought the newer one. I didn’t miss them at the time because I love my vinyl more but damn the Jays is so good that it has me spinning more CDs than I have at any time since I started collecting vinyl!
The Washington Post recently ran an article regarding CD collecting:
“Collectors, eager for a CD renaissance, were excited when, in 2021, CD sales experienced their first uptick in sales volume year over year since 2004. … But the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which tracks the quantity and medium of American music sales by gathering data from the major record labels and third-party sources, has no data to indicate that CDs are making a comeback. RIAA Research Director Matthew Bass says that if any physical medium is here to stay, it’s vinyl.”
Yeah I get that but equally I owned about 1200 CDs before I ever started collecting vinyl. That’s been trimmed down to about 600. Im probably buying less than 20 a year as sort of the ones by artists that I already have their catalogue on cd, enjoy listening to them occasionally but don’t want to invest vinyl money in them. There is also a wealth of music available second hand that was never pressed on vinyl, or was pressed in very small volumes on vinyl, and is not likely to get a new press anytime soon. It’s fun to have options. I don’t see either going away fully, certainly gear wise, in the medium term.
