Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

I’m making an appointment there and plan on trying whatever is in my budget. They also have Fyne which Joe mentioned. I’m making a list after work of all the recs.
I had a pair of Fyne bookshelves in house that I got from him. I actually really liked the way they sounded but they had a visual flaw and I decided to get the Heresy’s. They were pretty small but had a real nice sound.IMG_5430.jpegIMG_5434.jpeg

Their story is really interesting. They were set up by a bunch of engineers, designers and cabinet builders let got by tannoy when they moved production away from Scotland to the far east. They set up in the small Lanarkshire town my dad is from (we’ve had a lot of family celebrations in the Hilton next door). It’s a pretty depressed post industrial town so to see a company like this set up is pretty cool. They employ a lot of the idea that made higher end tannoy speakers do unique and desirable but they weren’t as constrained by history as tannoy so were able to experiment and push things within a similar design philosophy.

Id love to own one of their vintage classic, or higher end vintage, lines down the line. They’re almost like a modern take on the tannoy heritage which I’ve always coveted.

Those must be the ones on the website as open box. I was hoping I could borrow them for a demo. I wanted larger bookshelves (3 way) but if they sound good the price is right on these.

Because of the way they’re designed all their speakers, even the biggest, only appear to have 1 speaker but the tweeter is actually inside the the woofer. Similar to the higher end tannoy. It claims to have really good imaging making it much less fussy in terms of positioning.

I’ve become largely unfamiliar with true entry level side of vinyl, but a friend asked for some help so I figured I’d bring the question to the group here.

He’s looking for an all in one record player. I’m talking TT, phono, pre amp, amp and speakers all in one self contained box with a budget of around $300. I don’t want to pull a vinyl snob card and tell him not to do it, so I’d prefer to find the best option for theirs needs. Anything that at least as an arm with a real counter weight? Maybe something with RCA outs in the event they decide to get a separate amp and speakers in the future?

My brain immediately goes to Fluance RT80 + Spinbase, but I don't know if that falls under $300. That's a tight budget. Googling now...

A U-turn Orbit and some powered speakers are about all I can come up with but even the base model Orbit is $250 now.

The link below seems plausible for the budget, but yeah I can't vouch for quality...

EDIT: after reading the 1-star reviews I would steer clear and just go with an AT-LP60...
