@sulken ? @Portland Sheriff ?Any Degritter users here? My Audio Desk Systeme Pro crapped out and am seeking input from users on if they are totally satisfied with the Degritter Mk. II. Thanks.
I’ve been very happy with mine.
Thanks for the positive feedback @Portland Sheriff. I'm pretty well sold on the Degritter at this time and your input helps. Got a demo of it at my local today and I like its operational aspects and its added power compared to the Audio Desk. Plus the easily removable water tank, like the Humminguru and not having to buy expensive maintenance products annually. Probably pull the trigger on it tomorrow.I’ve been very happy with mine.
I bought it nicely discounted as a used demo model. I’ve had it 2-3 years and run thousands of cycles. It’s not mk2 model, but differences don’t seem to be huge.
The Hummingguru didn’t exist when I bought it, and there’s obviously a massive price difference.
just give it a tiny little lick
This is a bit speculative but that’s kinda what we do on the internet…I’m basically sitting to see what happens with the Fiio Cp13 when it launches. It’s a cassette walkman, but I don’t necessarily want a deck.
I really think going with room correction on your amp will solve most of your issues. You've gone through so many different speakers, many of which I would have described as non fatiguing and neutral that I'm not sure where else to look without first addressing the challenge of the space you're in.I ended up sending the JBL L82s back. They are either defective or they are a bad fit for my system and room. So I'm back on the hunt for speakers.
I haven't heard any of Revel or ELACs offerings (there's no one closer than three hours that sells them) so curious about some of their offerings. Have plans to get to a dealer for Harbeth at some point to scope out some of their work, will probably listen to Heresys as well. For a small space and for a detailed, dynamically exciting, non-fatiguing, neutral sound, any brands or speakers folks think I should add to my list?
Acoustic panels are a purchase I’m plotting out now (few emails with GIK already). I’m not buying speakers tomorrow; but shortlisting what speakers to audition at shops and the like. Two separate, ongoing processes (acoustic treatment, speakers)I really think going with room correction on your amp will solve most of your issues. What amp are you currently running?Acoustic panels are a purchase I’m plotting out now (few emails with GIK already). I’m not buying speakers tomorrow; but shortlisting what speakers to audition at shops and the like. Two separate, ongoing processes (acoustic treatment, speakers)
This is like an episode of The Twilight Zone or a bonus verse on Alanis Morrisette’s “Ironic”, man spends half his life building the best stereo system ever only to be diagnosed with ALS upon its completion. Why didn’t one of you guys tell me you were being featured in The Washington Post?
He spent his life building a $1 million stereo. The real cost was unfathomable

Yeah not exactly shocked to hear that this guy was kinda a nightmare to his family. My first thought when I heard about it initially was "Hooo boy I bet this was a fun household..."Why didn’t one of you guys tell me you were being featured in The Washington Post?

How often do you think he actually sat down to enjoy music and not just test equipment so he could further refine his set up?Yeah not exactly shocked to hear that this guy was kinda a nightmare to his family.
