Equipment Recommendations - The Home For New System and Upgrade Advice

I mean I still feel the need to point out despite the optics I've actually only upgraded my turntable once, my speakers once, and my amp never... I'm pretty much super fiscally responsmibibabble...

You do a lot of research on the board. We're mostly just sneakier about our upgrades so it seems like you're worse than us when it's probably the reverse. Although you did buy that fancy ultrasonic, so 🫣

@Mather doesn’t upgrade often, and a lot of thought goes into them, but equally when actually goes for it he doesn’t take any half measures!

This definitely fits your murder dungeon aesthetic. Would look good in your “surgical suite”!
The bait and switch that's going on right now with Degritter users and their wives is gunna be hilarious.

Honey? I'm buying another audio thing, it's going to go on the mantle in the livingroom because I'm out of space but don't worry it looks like a stylish 50s toaster, it'll look cool...

I mean it does have that vintage appeal.

Question… why does it need a dust cover?
I honestly don't know. Like it actually comes with a long rectangular microfiber cloth that covers the opening where the record is placed, I mean in my mind that IS the dust cover, that's the whole point of it. Why you would need to cover the entire thing is beyond me.

One other cool function that I didn't realize it was doing until yesterday, when you turn it on it actually partially fills the tank and then drains it automatically to remove any dust that might have fallen into it while it was off.

Has any of y'all had ears on the Gold Note IS 1000 integrated? There's one near me going for like 2 G's which is about a quarter of the usual price. Debating whether to grab it just to see, but thinking it may not be enough of a jump over my Arcam to really make for a significant upgrade. Gets great reviews but a few years old now....

Don’t let the age be a deterrent. I heard a system last weekend where all the equipment except the streamer/dac was made in 2003. Joseph Audio speakers, musical fidelity nu vista amp and CP player, PS Audio power supply.

Excellent sound. Good gear last for decades when it’s maintained.
