I’m assuming that current controllers will work with the 2?
I'd assume they will as well. obviously they won't physically connect, but I'm sure you'll be able to connect like you can to a Switch Lite.

could be a way of keeping IR functionality if the new ones lose that feature, so you can keep playing stuff like Ring Fit Adventure

The pro controllers might, but I don't think the joycons will. They're completely redesigned and magentize on the system instead of sliding into a plastic groove.

I’m most concerned about the Pro controllers as I have 3 of them.

I'd assume they'd connect as well, but who knows? none of the Switch 1 controllers will have the functionality of the new button on the Switch 2 joycon, so that could be a factor depending on how integral that button is (which I'd again assume not a deal breaker)
The "C" button is rumored to be tied to social features such game/voice chat but who knows for sure 🤷

Quietest console announcement of all time lol looks not that different, but cleaner!

Switch 2 Direct where I imagine they'll announce games and release date on 2/4

Edit: actually 4/2. Tough that that's still so far away. But the Mario Kart looks good and the cartridge backwards compatibility is HUGE.
Mouse Moooooooode

Shot-in-the-dark question here, but does anyone have experience connecting their PS4 to a bluetooth audio device?

I use a projector and screen; before moving my record setup fit perfectly in the corner where the screen went, so I just ran an aux cable from the projector, under the couch and along the wall to the stereo receiver. Now in the new placec I'm using a soundbar speaker; it works great for the streaming video stick, but my PS4 doesn't connect to bt audio devices, by design. 🙄

I've seen several half-measure suggestions off google but nothing's conclusive; one reddit thread said I can connect my controller via aux cable, but playing a Bluray the sound kept cutting out and I'd need the controller powered on the whole time. And the PS4 is my way of watching physical media; I barely listen to game audio anyway.

So just putting it out there to see if anyone has had this problem and found a fix.

What other inputs does the soundbar have?

Aux, HDMI, and optical. I'm averse to running a cable from beside the couch (where the projector/ps4 reside) to the speaker below the screen. We're very resistant to visible cables; I have an OCD spouse and I agree things look better when you can camouflage the electronic effluvium.

I'd drill a hole in each wall and run a cable along the basement ceiling, but that's truly last resort territory.

You can get this guy for $85 and seems like it would do the conversion from 5.1 to 2.0 at the PS4 via optical. If your soundbar supports AptX Bluetooth for low latency, that should be all you need.

Oof, the price is something after looking at so many adapters like this. Though the screen handles the issue which has kept me from dropping ~$12 on those dongles: how the heck do you pair a BT speaker with a device using one of those dongles?
