Everything Video Games!

I just saw someone post that they were able to get a Switch 2 from their local GameStop after failing to get a pre-order to go through online. He had heard that each GameStop may have 50 units available for pre-order. He got to his local GameStop at 1:15pm, no one inline. They said they had a handful of the 60 units they had still available. Took them an hour to work through all the pre-orders from the people lined up. Most people were there early, but not trying after opening.

My wife waited in line for an hour this morning and got one after striking out on their website. Our store had 59 units for preorder. 39 Bundles and 20 regular ones.

I'm seeing a lot of pre-order confirmed Switch 2 listings on eBay, like the one above, that are less than MSRP.

I can only see the reseller here paid a $50 deposit on the pre-order, but not what other discounts they may have been able to get. Were there some great deals, available that were are all unaware of? Or are these resellers buying these with their pro rewards and turning that over as profit?

Edit: or are you paying $300 for the $50 deposit and the seller profits $350 and then you still have to pay the remaining balance?

I mean, people need to read .. but people shouldn't be able to sell shit like this either

all around this type of stuff is lame

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that my order will stand and not eventually be canceled due to GameStop over selling. I’ve seen a couple articles now that states their inventory sold out within minutes pretty much the entire time we just saw the bad gateway errors. Somehow my order went through 45 minutes after The pre-order started by clicking and not available button.

Heard some stories from friends and coworkers who stuck out on getting a Switch 2 pre-order to go through.

One person said they had Walmart, Target and BestBuy all open in tabs ready to go for 12:00am. Walmart put them in a queue to checkout that was nearly an hour long and when that queue finally got to their turn they found out that the Switch 2 had already sold out. Target and BestBuy's websites just completely broke, wouldn't load or gave them nonsense errors and couldn't complete the checkout process and then the Switch 2 was sold out. They tried again on GameStop and again the website completely broke, wouldn't load for 15 minutes with the bad gateway error message and then only 1 and 3 refreshes would show the product page and they only ever saw the "Not Available" notice.

Yes. This is not specific to the Switch 2 and is how pretty much every product launch (consoles, graphic cards, etc) operates now. It's a huge pain in the ass and retailers don't give a shit because the product sells out super fast every time. There has to be a better way.

Yeah, this was my experience. I was lucky to get a preorder through Walmart after about an hour that hasn't yet been canceled, so I might be good. Won't stop me from ordering through My Nintendo if I can.
