I know there are some on here with way, way more than I have. Felt like listening to some upbeat goodness after this retiree worked 4 long days this week (8, 17, 15, 8 hr days). I have today fairly open and will get through a few of these. And looking forward to the @imtheocean March action!

Went with Michael Kiwanuka. I've liked each release more than the last, but I'll need more time with this one to see if it can overtake his fabulous third album, Kiwanuka.

I'm going to get the list of anyone that played in February together and doing a wheel for a $30 Bandcamp gift card. Bandcamp Friday this week will be perfect for the winner! It might be tomorrow before I get this done, so dang busy for a semi-retired guy!

So with the bandcamp credit, I was initially eyeing the upcoming release by montreal band Choses Sauvages - they do a brand of modern funky post-punk/new wave backed with analog synths that I quite enjoy, and their recent singles are great. I recommend if that's your thing. Will probably still order the record.

Here's a sample (this one has a motorik beat akin to Can going on):



But then, I noticed that José James is releasing a follow-up to his 1978 album from last year, my #1 record of 2024. So I had to pre-order that.
