Just realized I stopped getting update notifications for this thread, so sorry for the late response. I use pre before my morning workouts, because I don't drink coffee before/I find that it helps, even if it's all in my head/I really fucking hate having to do anything before 9am.
I used to take it before every workout, but eventually realized the caffeine was really messing with my sleep schedule when I did workouts later in the day. I keep meaning to find a second one without caffeine that I can try in the evenings, but haven't come across one that I like yet.
I have no problem with pre as long as I'm making sure to not overuse it, and that I remember it has caffeine. But I think the things I do that are more important are the electrolytes I put in my water and my post-workout protein shake.
I started with a trainer in March(?), and have been really happy with the results. I had made a lot of improvements in my health and fitness during 2020, when I had nothing else to do but ride my Peloton, but I had pretty much gotten as far as I could on my own, and decided I needed a trainer to help me repair my relationship with strength training. I have dropped off on my schedule the past couple of weeks because work has been insane for me (and my trainer recently upped my strength training schedule to 4 days a week, which is just not sustainable with my schedule), but overall I've been really happy with the results...I haven't lost a single pound, but my PBF has gone down 3%, I've gained 8lbs of muscle, and I saw definition in my triceps the other day when I was working out for maybe the first time ever...it's crazy how much something like that can improve one's mood!
