I have the exact same pressing as this. Its by far my favourite Oscar Peterson record. I actually read up on it when I put it on my instagram page. Theres over 10 hours of recorded music from his dates at Chicago's London House and they whittled it down to the best for this album. Superb stuff!

Also I saw from Discogs that one song is repeated when you're meant to get two different takes but at that price I wasn't too bothered. @Selaws An update on this as I'm currently listening to side 14 of this Complete Miles Davis Prestige Recordings. I'm really happy with my purchase. For the price you can get it at, it's such a great way to get so much fabulous Miles. Really enjoying his stuff with Milt Jackson currently. The first disc had a few songs that had crackle on etc but I guess that's probably the source of the material. But all the other discs sound top notch. I notice they're about the re-release the quintet sessions from this (just 6 LPs, not the 12 I've got) and it's £150 at Juno (not sure if that means in the UK it would £180 with VAT or not) MILES DAVIS QUINTET The Legendary Prestige Quintet Sessions vinyl at Juno Records.

Ah fantastic, thanks for the update. I added the box set you have on my wantlist, there seems to be quite a few options at a price relatively good price (for the amount of music you get) but the boxes seem to be in rough shape. I think it might be worth me just checking every so often to see if theres any new listings. Looks to be great!

The box and the small insert are really basic. It's really all about the music for this set. It's a shame as if they'd included, say, some of the artwork or some essays on how his music changed over his time on the label it would be a really immense set. As it is, it's all about the music...

Yeah I kind of get what you mean there. There was a Ornette Coleman box set I put an order in for (nothing overly fancy, just a 2lp set in a box with a booklet - it was a live session recorded near to where I live which is why it caught my interest) at a reasonable price, but then the seller messaged to say he forgot to mention it was missing the booklet. I was mostly interested in the music but I was expecting the booklet to be really interesting so I cancelled the order. Most of the time though the music speaks for itself!
 
A Tribe Called Quest - People's Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm

Not sure how I didn't really know about this until the best of 1990 thread. An instant buy and this reissue/remaster seems excellent, making it one of the crispest sounding hip hop albums I own.

I have the original CD box of this from1987 and it has a full size booklet with session notes and photo’s etc it’s LP size. It that included with this new set

Not in mine! Damn, that looks good. I just got a sheet of paper that has the musicians for each session and then a weird way of showing which physical releases the songs were on, which is kind of difficult to follow. Looking at Discogs it seems the booklet probably came with the US release but not with the German one, and that's the one I have.
 
Been a busy week so I haven't had chance to post these as they've trickled in.

First up, a couple of new releases. Juno came through with a restock on KVL saving me a bunch on international shipping. Thanks to @Poly-Rythmo for the heads-up on that one. And the Levitation Orchestra, I listened to samples a few weeks back and wasn't sure how the choral voices sat with me. When @Selaws posted about it a couple of days ago I took a second listen and voices aside, the music is fire. SotU had a stack in store yesterday for anyone struggling to source it.

Next, a trilogy of Doug Hammond reissues care of Manufactured Recordings. Some long overdue free jazz reissues, thanks to Honest Jon's for having them in stock seemingly weeks before anybody else.

A gorgeous boxset from German Jazz/Ambient band, Dictaphone. 3LPs + 1EP in a heavy boxset, discs packaged outside of sleeves, download card included. All shipped direct from label Denovali in Germany for €73 as part of their 25% off sale. VMP should take note on this price!
I owe a massive thank you to somebody for this. Back in the old place, someone popped into the jazz thread and mentioned these and I liked what I sampled. They have since gone on to be in frequent rotation on my Spotify. Very calming commute music and equally wonderful night-time listening. I cannot for the life of me remember who originally got me onto them though so if you're over in this place too, raise your hand, the first pint's on me if you're ever in London.

Onto the used stuff. First a trilogy of Blueys. The Byrd is a Japanese Toshiba, just missing the obi. The McCoy and Lee are both 1972 firsts, VAN GELDER stamped. Patience has been a virtue with Expressions. I love the album and a good quality release has avoided me for the longest time, this popped up for £25 shipped, I bit their hand off.

A trio of free jazz from Charlie Haden (an early Quad Impulse release), Kalaparusha Maurice McIntyre Quartet on Black Saint and Bobby Few on Black Lion.

And finally, stacks of sexy sax. Ornette joined by Don Cherry, Charlie Haden, Dewey Redman and the main man's boy, Ornette D. Coleman on drums, live on this first Impulse release. An early Delmark Braxton to replace a pretty ropey sounding reissue I have and this Pharoah on Theresa. @D Jilla is to thank for this one. You introduced me a while back to Pharoah's take on Coltrane's Olé from this album. You were right, it is amazing. When this popped up, it was a no-brainer, cheers, buddy.
