How do those Bill Evans records sound?

How do those Bill Evans records sound?

They sound excellent. They’re just colour variants of the most recent OJC remasters, so I’m skeptical they're AAA, but a really nice stereo mix. And dead quiet...look to be pressed at RTI.

And obviously the music is some of the best piano trio sets of all time.

Saw this on a Insta post about RSD at the local, had to pop down and grab it. This one is Vol. 6 in the series. $32 for 3 albums of classic and fairly unknown soul. Packaged with a great booklet with a bit about the history of each song.

For me, these were the best ever RSDs. My local took the correct decision to make them online only so I logged on each Saturday at 8.59 and by 9.01 my business was done. No shoving, no elbowing out of the way, and no going all the way to the shop to discover they didn't have the one thing I wanted. This is the release I was most looking forward to this year and I was absolutely delighted to get it cheaper than most places in the UK, which never seems to happen here normally. Very excited to hear this, just as soon as my girlfriend is out of range of the hifi...

I have to say the Covid RSD has been a better experience for me too..gave my local store my wish lists for each one ...normal limits applied (1 copy etc) ..they put aside what they could based on allocations ..then picked up after 12 on the Saturdays ..far better than 3am standing inline hoping that they would have what I wanted and then having a 5 minute dash thru the bins to grab what I could whilst eyes burned behind me !

I'll echo that. I generally avoided RSDs in the past as the massive crowds/lines were a really big turnoff in terms of comfort level. The ability to at least try and get leftovers online with the queueing options really made this a much more comfortable experience.

I hope that if and when we get into a post-COVID world that record stores can keep this same rough model (maybe without having to boot people from the store immediately after, but allow them to browse the other bins/items)
