That's exactly it! Supposedly the organised stuff upstairs is his northern soul rarities. A few years ago the council forced him to close the shop until it was made fire safe. He cleaned up, stacked it all neatly, and invited the council back. A few days after it was signed off it was back to the same state. Crazy really!

Whoever sent it (can't make out the signature) really dropped the ball. They just slapped two big customs labels and a bag with a pick note around the product barcode label and the shipping label on the other side of the box (where you open it) and sent it off.
Looking at the shape of the box (puncture holes and such) i'm surprised that only that corner got damaged.

I have mentioned this before, but to the right of your photo you might have seen hints of another space? There is a staircase around the corner that leads to another room upstairs. Supposedly this is where the rare stuff is kept and is arranged neatly.....not sure when the last time anyone was actually able to get there was though!

Fuck! Idiot. Mine was still in that box too but then in the size of a mailer that you’d put 4-5 records in. I’d definitely be onto them for a replacement!
 
Using some vacation time for day trips to distant shops and markets

Wednesday in central Pennsylvania yielded some gems in an old movie theatre converted into antique stands. Most of my digging was up on the balcony. A tarp covered the records there. Leaky roof, no water threatened the wax!

Such a wild mix of genres and conditions!
Why there were sealed Grinderman and no wave artist Mars was beyond me!

Had that George Clinton album on my want list, and sure enough it’s the red Euro pressing!

Daktaris is a 1985 original. Paid more than typical flea prices but under asking rates for most.

Ha! Yeah, I’m fairly certain @Russ I has been by Hi-Voltage before. His kid went to college at UPS (the local university) if I recall correctly.

Speaking of Hi-Voltage, I have my discount stamp card filled up I need someone to drop off some gems so I can fully take advantage of my 20% discount.

M-Theory is great, always drop by when in SD. There's also another record store across the bridge(don't know what that area is called) that specializes in mainly used old records. I saw everything from Blues and Rock to some newer hip-hop stuff. Pretty great, I'll see if I can dig out the name of the store...
