Fresh Grabs

The last batch of October grabs, starting with my first order from PBC:

Super happy with ATW, a slow burner that over the course of the year has become my favorite All Them Witches album.

Next up, a few used buys:

The Lonnie Smith is an OG that has seen better days, though surface noise in only intrusive on the few quieter organ passages. That and the Rasputin’s Stash came from People’s Records in Detroit, which is always a fun stop. The Cure and the Monk came from my local shop. The Monk is a beautiful 80s OJC. As for this questionable Cure LP… let’s just say I traded in a few records to justify the purchase. Being a huge Cure fan, I’m finding plenty of things to love about this mess of an album.

Finally, the other mail arrivals:

This King Buffalo album is a real treat, as is the Nilufer compilation of her EPs.
 
I’m still partial to Dying Surfer Meets His Maker, but ATW has slid into my #2 spot for them. Wasn’t super thrilled with the newest album. I’ll have to give it some more time.

King Buffalo is my jam. Seeing them on Friday! Can’t wait for that album they just recorded in a cave.
 
ROG repress of Type O's October Rust came today. Great sounding pressing of a top tier album. Full stop.

I am disappointed that it's just a carbon copy of the pressing from the None More Negative box a couple years back (which I have and also sounds great). I wish they'd changed the jacket to better artwork (eg the 2013 Roadrunner RE was on point). I don't need notes about the album but ROG did the same thing on their Bloody Kisses RE.

Well I guess I did get it in a different color than I already had (naw I'm just kidding, I don't give two fucks about color vinyl - maybe one fuck; yup, let's go w one fuck given).

But the standalone is nice of ROGs pressing causing the box is a big boy to take down from the shelf and I'm only getting older (My tables been set for but seven; Just last year I dined with eleven).

Yeah, so many good deals with that discount especially the imports! If I hadn't been spending a bunch lately I could have easily bought 10 or so as well it was really tough to get my cart down to 3. I'll def. be ordering from them more in the future now!

I had a refund from a cancelled concert show up, so I splurged. But it's definitely a new favorite shop, even without the sale they have better prices on a lot of imports than I can find anywhere. Very happy to have heard of them.

No, I think I got the super rare 1 of 1 slime edition. Open the shrinkwrap, the entire thing is soaking with a chemical, open the vinyl inside and it looks like the pictures I posted. My hands were itching and I had to run to the sink. That eBay seller definitely had this in a chemical spill or something.

I have been contemplating making an order with them for probably a year and every time I almost bought something it would sell out before I could find another and get free shipping but i'm with you i'll be ordering from them a lot more now as well. They easily have the best prices i've seen for a lot of the imports for sure regardless of the sale plus secure packaging from inside the US is a nice bonus. I think sales are pretty rare anyways which I get since I doubt they are making a ton of profit.

Just doing free shipping over $40 (I think) is huge for a shop that size with that specialty. Definitely want to keep them in business!
