Fresh Grabs

How’s that James Brown? Was actually planning on going to that fair yesterday, big fan of the guys at In Sheeps Clothing!

I've yet to spin Payback but it's low key one of James Brown's best. I had the CD ages ago but cannot wait to hear it on wax.

The fair was pretty legit, most of it was Euro and Japanese stuff, but Kyle Thomas' booth had a ton of cool rock and psych

$20, 1974 pressing, had the dreaded “looks rough, plays great” sticker on it but how could i say no to my favorite Fahey (with booklet, in shrink), and also the only remaining album of his first 6 that i haven’t managed to get a hold of? (fahey is up there with neil young, miles davis, eno, bowie, john coltrane, stereolab, bert jansch, and ahmad jamal in the most-represented artists in my collection.) thankfully, the scuffs really are superficial, and this sounds mighty good after a cleaning. 5691690C-6AF3-4FE4-9DFE-49A3251DE2F9.jpeg

two more big ones off the list this weekend… both were wall records, not usually where i cast my net at the record store, but the 3lp Dennis on Sundazed always seemed like the only way to go, and you see that Windy and Carl record (one of the best guitar drone/american shoegaze records ever) exactly never, so i put both on hold and brought in my ATMP 8lp brick for trade (always more where that came from) and made myself a happy fella. it’d been a few years since i gave POB a spin and my god, what a soulful record, dennis you beautiful bastard.

Top row is all from the Rough Trade sell which I still have about a hand full or so stuck in limbo.

This is the first of the McCartney half-speed masters i've bought since my OG copy is needing a break.

I loved everything about the Diana Ross "Motown In Mono" edition so decided to grab another from the series in The Fabulous Miracles.

Then the new reissue of 93 ‘til Infinity.. One of my favorite albums from the 90's.. Hoping this one sounds solid!

This Peter Laughner box is on sale again so I grabbed it quick since the last time it was on sale I was loving it way more then I expected listening through the digital version. With some gift card money on amazon it was like $40 which is even more of a steal now seeing it in person. Great value with this one, looking forward to going through it all!

Signed Rich Robinson EP which I got cheapish from ebay and came with a 4" seam split.. I guess that's the ebay gamble though.

Grabbed this Billy Preston finally which made me realize it was time to get a new copy of probably my 2nd favorite George Harrison album.

I wish my fresh grab was here...in SF on 2/9, at my zip code on 2/11, then suddenly back at the sorting center. Luckily it's from @Plaid Room / Colemine so I'm sure it's packed like a tank and should eventually arrive in good shape.
this has been happening with a large number of deliveries for me lately. informed delivery usually says something is arriving, then 3 days later it actually gets to me.
