Golf?

If you’re not concerned of it being “new bag” you can always find good deals on eBay.
You can get a decent bag for $50
I don’t know why this hasn’t occurred to me. I actually bought a couple of golf clubs off eBay back in the day. I was really into Nike Golf (thanks Tiger Woods) so I have one of those Sasquatch drivers, 3-woods, and a putter all bought off eBay. I’ll check it out!!

Also, how essential are golf shoes nowadays?
John Daly can often be found playing barefoot. Golf shoes have never been essential. Just like running shoes don't need to be specific to running, and hiking can be done without hiking boots. Anything comfortable for walking a few miles. However, also like running shoes and hiking books, a well fit purpose built shoe can improve comfort and performance. I personally still prefer a thicker shoes with proper cleats for golf. I've always liked the lateral motion support and grip. But the casual running style golf shoes are wildly popular. Just enough bite on the cleats to hold the ground and some lateral support while being light, flexible and breathable.

In my mind without even checking before hand I thought for sure there would be something for like $100 but no. The cheapest bag in the store was $200+. I was shocked. I just need a basic carry bag with some a few pockets, I had no idea how expensive they've become.
Just wait until you see the price of records 😂

But seriously, lots of options. FB marketplace, eBay, etc. If you want new, rockbottomgolf.com, Costco and anywhere that still has last years colors those can usually be had for 20-40% off

I'd say very essential, at least in my case. I play in all sorts of weather, including lots of wet courses. I finally bit the bullet and ordered pricier shoes than I usually do (Asics) and made sure they were rated waterproof. I played one round in them so far and am really happy with them. I don't need spikes, I'm older, and my swing speed isn't as aggressive as it used to be so the textured bottoms work really well for me.
