Oh damn. I've been eyeing second hand copies (which are relatively cheap already actually) but got a bunch of money tied up in picking up some past griselda shit I missed so think I'm gonna hold off on this for now since I do have the black copy.

I was so sure that I was going to get that VMP 2xLP of 36 Chambers as it's one my all-time favorite albums, but with the Bo Jackson drop tomorrow I need to rethink my spending.

I haven't heard anything about the VMP 36 Chambers in terms of improvement in sound in any way, does anyone know if there is supposed to be any upgrade in the sound with their 2LP pressing or is it just a 2LP of what's already out there?

There's no 2lp out there, and the 1lp is about an hour squeezed onto one disc. Would be very easy to improve on that

I understand that, but 36 Chamber's is notorious for not having great sound quality due to being mastered from a 4-track or something like that. I understand that stretching it out over 2 discs would make it louder and maybe more dynamic....but you know the saying garbage in, garbage out.

not saying it's a garbage album, it's not. it just never sounded great, so wondering how much better this 2LP may sound.

2 LP only gives GZ a chance to fuck up side D

true but it has always sounded worse on vinyl. There is a European version supposedly that sounds better than most cuts, but I haven’t heard it. I’m hoping for the best with this VMP version. Otherwise it’s getting sold off and I’m sticking with cassette and digital.

Also to fit the album on 1lp the tracklist was changed (tracks were moved around). The 2lp will have all tracks in correct order.

Sure, that's a different case then. Looks like Grint mastered Ready to Die, ATLiens, Demon Days, and Spiritualized, so clearly he knows what he is doing, and maybe they are ripping from the cassette anyway idk
