Been doing a Dilla deep-dive the last couple days and found out there was a different promo mix of The Shining. Description reads "Advance Promo version with dialog samples from Stanley Kubrick's The Shining mixed into certain songs on the album. These samples are not on the commercial release. The back of the sleeve says 'Promotional Copy contains talking to discourage file sharing.' Was this the case? Or was this the original intent of the artist?" A great listen, Dilla makes better use of the dialogue samples than most underground albums now that just attach them as "skits" btwn songs, imo, much more dynamic sounding than the standard mix of the album.

RRC is dropping a lot of heat lately, but they seem not to move much of their product. Plenty of copies available for both of the Crimeapple LPs and Reject on Steroids. This Boldy EP will be my first purchase from them.

I bought Reject on Steroids and Course of the Inevitable 2 from them on a single order to save on shipping, but those two haven't shipped yet - I think I'm February.
I'm interested in the shipping date for this Boldy as I might message them and see if they will just add it to the bundle and ship all 3 together lol

I have an OG '89 3 Ft that I can't wait to retire, and I was late to the VMP party for Is Dead and Buhloone and I was never going to pay discog prices for those. Luckily this all worked itself out and De La can get my money now since Tommy ain't my mother fuckin boy.
