Hip Hop

Also if we're doin it.

1. TPAB
2. GKMC
3. Damn
4. GNX
5. Untitled Unmastered
6. Section 80
7. Morale

Top two are generational all-timers. Everything else is excellent -> great. Morale I thought was good, but I had pretty much no desire to return to it after 1 listen + the kodak inclussion rubbed me the wrong way.

Reckon I'd flip GNX and Damn, but otherwise I'd imagine my results being pretty much the same. Morale is worth a revisit for sure, but I can dig you on the Kodak fact.

Funniest shit I've ever seen. The self-owning will continue until morale improves.

First lawsuit looking spooky for UMG and company 👀👀

Is it true UMG threatened to sue Kendrick if Drake sues them? lmaoooo

GKMC
TPAB
Untitled
GNX
Damn/Section 80
Overly Dedicated EP
Morale

I think Untitled has some genius shit on it, could've been better if the songs were more refined/polished but that wasn't really the point it was more just like TPAB loosies.

Could see GNX rising to a top 2 position, I always get quite a bit of mileage out of new K Dot so time will tell..

Also, the "weird shit" he does with his voice is just the musician playing his instrument. Even when it's silly AF I think it generally works

been debating all evening wether i should by a CD mystery bundle or not . but the chances ill end up with stuff i own are there i guess

yeah depending on how many CDs you already own there is definitely a chance to get doubles. I got a tape bundle last time and I think it worked out in my favor. I think I got the following:

1. Fete Des Morts (wanted this and bought the bundle hoping to get it)
2. Duck Szn: CHinese Algebra (already had a cassette but the one included in the bundle was yellow and supposedly more limited)
3. Notorious Dump Legends (this was the only one I didn't care about since I had the vinyl and the tape was still in stock)
4. Machs Hard Lemonade (had the vinyl but the tape wasn't readily available so I was happy. was considering selling it to make up some of the price of the bundle but so far I have kept it)

i kinda talked myself into this. I own NDL1 on vinyl, Balens Cho on vinyl, but it dont have the artwork, the Triz saga.

i dont own any copy of #Richaxxhaitian , Wap Konn Joj! , FDM, NDL 2, Chinese Algebra, HBO, MHL,

expecting the CD pack to contain one Triz release , probably one of the NDLs and Balens Cho.
so ill probably have to deal with selling a Triz CD and possibly something else. Theres still a chance i end up with 2 things that i dont own yet.
and no, im not expecting HBO.

So my copy of the “remastered” My Name is My Name vinyl came in & this is a funny pressing… side A sounds exactly like what people were complaining the original press sounded like - quiet & lifeless. It kinda reminds me of listening to Midnight Marauders on vinyl. But side B is definitely louder & has a lot more bass. It’s not perfect because they still crammed 48 minutes onto a single LP but it really is laughable how different Side A & Side B sound. Might have to message that reddit account to ask them what the heck is going on with this release

Had a feeling it was snake oil. No good remastering can get pumped out and pressed that quickly

I mean Side B sounds light years better than Side A, it sounds like two completely different mixes. If Side A sounded like Side B, I’d be a very happy man, but it’s like they forgot to change the Side A stampers. Side B would still have to be cranked up a bit regardless because of the amount of music on each side, but Side B sounds REALLY close to what you hear when streaming the tracks digitally. Side A is still a joke, I don’t get it

This is pretty disappointing to hear. I'm not sure I'm so sad now that my copy is somewhere in a Canada Post warehouse for the foreseeable future because Def Jam decided to ship right when they went on strike.

I did end up shooting that reddit account a message and they said they appreciated the feedback and relayed it to the customer support team internally and are checking to see if anyone else has brought up the same issue I did. Guess we'll wait and see, at the very least I do appreciate that they're at least transparent and communicative with stuff like this

Edit: For what it's worth, the matrix codes are different on the repress vs the original press, I still just find it hard to believe the difference in dynamics on each side was just never caught
