Hip Hop

Someone on the old forum linked to a store page with a pressing of Social Deviantz's "Essential Mental Nutrients" (first vinyl pressing ever) and a repressing of Ron B's two singles "Stitch By Stitch" and "Live Entertainer" on 7" format.
Both were and still are very expensive on other formats, with that Ron B wax making the Discogs monthly highest sold list multiple times over the years.

The Ron B wax is sold out, but you can still buy Essential Mental Nutrients here: https://boogiedownbarnes.bigcartel.com/products
Juno is legit bro, go for it.
Thanks, went for it from Juno along with a new Analog Africa release. Way cheaper from there than on Amazon or their Bandcamp.

It says there is only one of the Social Deviantz left in stock. Not sure if there will be a restock.

This might be too niche for most of the folks in here but just in case you're interested, my latest release is an incredibly dope and insanely rare hip-hop 45 out of none other than Wichita of all places... details below:

Introducing DWG7015: S.W.A.T. - 'Poetry' 7"

https://boogiedownbarnes.bigcartel.com/products

Previously released as a test press only Mystery 7", thanks to some help from our friends at Heavy Jewelz Records we're proud to be able to finally announce the official release of DWG7015.

There can't be too many truly unknown golden era rap records left in 2019, but this is about as close as it gets. Without a Discogs entry and as far as we can tell only one copy ever sold online ($800!), 'Poetry' is a rarity in the truest sense. That is despite it being featured on a recent DJ Shadow mix, which you would have thought would turn up some copies, but instead left many collectors scratching their heads as to the identity of this previously unheard track.

Not only is it incredibly rare, it's incredibly dope, a Josh Davis co-sign always helps but throw a dope guitar riff, 'Funky Drummer', 'Numbers' and 'Nautilus' (for the remix) into the mix and you can't really go wrong. We still can't figure out which mix we like best so you can decide that for yourselves.

S.W.A.T. were from Wichita, Kansas, of all places and have a whole album worth of unreleased material from back in the days so there's a possibility we'll see more from them in the future, but until then enjoy the masterpiece that is 'Poetry' and check out the snippets below:

This has to be the wildest album roll-out in history.

Ahhhhh but remember, all we have been given is Act 1:

Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called "The Pledge". The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course... it probably isn't.

The second act is called "The Turn". The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you're looking for the secret... but you won't find it, because of course you're not really looking. You don't really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn't clap yet. Because making something disappear isn't enough; you have to bring it back.

That's why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call "The Prestige

While we've been obsessing over Act 2, Jay Electronica has been reminding us song by song (8 out of 15), that this is the disappearance. The Prestige, or Act 3, is the big reveal!

I'd manage those expectations, Sept 19th is just Jay's birthday and everything coming out right now is a soundcloud leak
