Hip Hop

I’ve had their customer service argue with me that I should just ask for a refund instead of an exchange because “I will probably just be disappointed again” and basically said we’ve only had minor complaints so I don’t know what to tell you.

How about you just send me a record that isn’t scratched as shit and stop treating me like an asshole.

For similar reasons I won't order from Relapse or TTL.

That's the sort of response that promotes VMP and others charging $35-$40 for what was considered a run of the mill pressing a year or two back.

I also love how they say "limited pressings" on their website, but everything they've done has gotten repressed.

IDK why they are so rude. I've met one of the guys who runs the label IRL, and he was nice, but I wouldn't really touch their stuff with a ten foot pole knowing their vendors and how they treat customers.

For packaging and presentation they're unmatched, but you're paying for all that stuff over the quality of the record. So if you want a chess set, get their reissue of Liquid Swords. If you want a great copy of Liquid Swords, forget it. The problem is they need to just move away from URP for pressing and NRP for cutting. One of the high volume plants in Europe like GZ would be more consistent and about as cheap, and even their cuts in-house would be less bass-shy than the ones out of NRP. I have a strong suspicion on good authority that they cut the bass there so records don't skip on crappy Crosley style decks. Taking the bass of of a hip-hop album is a no-go for me, and I hear that a lot on these bad reissues.

^ If you dont have this yet then grab it!
in my opinion this variant is sh*t has that urban outfitters hipster aesthetic with all the prophet/hypnotize back catalog that needs a reissue they go for a blatant cash grab just my 2 cents tho. edit: if they wanted to actually do some kind of non half assed variant they could've made it some kind of cool black and purple mixture like the cd disc art.

Seriously if you guys haven't listened to Fiend - Still Cookin' go and do it...It's insane how current and modern his sound is but still with all of his original flavor. He's like one of the few rappers from that generation that has just gotten better with age. I can almost promise that any people that maybe didn't like Fiend's music on No Limit from back in the day will definitely enjoy the new stuff. Beat selection and Feature selection is impeccable. Apparently only 100 pressed, but I might doubt that. Still very limited.

Fiend feat. Daz Dillinger - Crispy

And @Enaz Fox @Clint Howard listen to this beat, what other rapper would ever pick that? And he turns it into a complete banger.

Fiend - Mardi Gras

No Curren$y but I'm pretty sure there is a Trademark Da Skydiver & Young Roddy feature, maybe even a T.Y. It's hard to tell cause they didnt list all the features for some reason.

Dude if you get this for $19 I am gonna be so pissed these were like $40+ all throughout the city. All because of the fact that they marketed as being limited to 100, which I just don't even think is possible cause I can say with full certainty that Peaches Records got 15, Euclid Records got 10, so just in New Orleans there is a quarter of the entire pressing and yet Amazon has some somehow? I don't believe it.

But if you do get it for $19 hell yeah (for you) the mastering is fantastic and you've already heard me applaud the merits of the actual music.
