“Just” and “High and Dry” were two of my absolute favorite music video as a kid…

 
I have basically given up trying to get that In Rainbows box set, so I wound up finding a 180 gram pressing of it instead. I have had the thin, shitty US pressing for years and years. Thought might as well upgrade and see if it was worth it. Well...it was! This thing sounds incredible. So much more full and clear. Weird Fishes blows my mind on this pressing.

Hard to figure out through discogs. I saw it pop up somewhere online and decided to take a shot cause the talk around it was super positive. I first thought it was a UK pressing of it, but I’m not so sure now. I just got it in yesterday, so I haven’t deeply investigated the etchings or anything. The one it most seems like is a European 180 gram pressing, but I don’t think that’s exactly it. I know people are very finicky about Radiohead pressings, but for me this is the best I could probably get for IR. It definitely beats the original US pressing I have.

Hard to know. The scary book, also an EU press, is well pressed unlike the reports on the US press but the distortion on How To Disappear Completely is still very much there and audible, it’s not good enough really. The rest of it actually does sound pretty good.

My feeling is that the distortion is mastering rather than pressing so I can’t see how it wouldn’t be there whatever version you buy.
 
My issue is... I need a better Kid A, I have Joe's old Capitol which isn't terrible, but it's got noise. But the early copies that beat it are like $200+. And I have the newer 45 Amnesiac and while it sounds great it's also got pops. I'd would prefer to replace those but I don't think I can for less than $200...

If they fix the distortion on How To Disapear Completely on Kid Annesiae, and they are saying they will, it really is quite good otherwise, not old Parlophone good but it’s a bit like OKNOTOK in that it’s as good as a master from Digital Transfers as one could ask for.
