So pumped to see The Smile tonight! Seems like they are playing a few new songs as well.

I mean… they’ve released only two so-so albums since 2007. That’s 15 years of studio mediocrity (relatively speaking). And IIRC In Rainbows was composed in part of songs that had been floating around for a while. In retrospect, one can say they lost their creative spark as a group a long time ago.

A friend of a friend works for the merch side of the band—take this with a huge grain of salt— but they said that there will be no more albums but they may play live again down the road. The split is between the non-Smile members and Nigel Godrich. The other three don’t want to continue working with him
and feel like Thom values his input more than theirs.

I really enjoyed A Moon Shaped Pool. It might not be their best but I am glad it exists. They’ve been a band for 30 years now. There is no shame in moving on.

Yeah man I mean honestly I think this transition is super exciting and I'd rather this than RH slogging along unhappily.

It also kinda doesn’t really say anything much more than we already knew, they’re all off doing their own thing and Radiohead are neither active or defunct, they’re just not a thing right now.

The problem I'm having is THEY ALL LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME. I have no idea which is which. Local has one, but don't know which one of those five.

Probably can check, but it's tough in store. It's definitely Parlophone, it's one of those 95 presses. But I'll try.
