Yeah, issues like this can really suck the fun out of the hobby. I've (jokingly) contemplated just piling it all up in the backyard and lighting it on fire. Set myself freeeeeeeeee from the misery of vinyl records. Ha ha.I have never been able to get one iota of GZ crackle out due to cleaning. Whatever my needle is hitting, it ain't cleanable
My cart is definitely capable of being a effing A-hole, that's for sure...Yeah, issues like this can really suck the fun out of the hobby. I've (jokingly) contemplated just piling it all up in the backyard and lighting it on fire. Set myself freeeeeeeeee from the misery of vinyl records. Ha ha.
Then I get that MoFi Garcia/Grisman in the mail and I feel rejuvenated. "Yes, now I remember why I buy vinyl records. "
My equipment isnt as high quality as your setup, so your cart is probably more capable of translating both the good and the bad.
Probably a downgrade for your setup, but those Audio Technica microline styli track records extremely well. I have a 540ml and it rules. My cart is definitely capable of being a effing A-hole, that's for sure...
Actually I want an ART9 next so we're definitely thinking along the same linesProbably a downgrade for your setup, but those Audio Technica microline styli track records extremely well. I have a 540ml and it rules.
Hey so I know a guy who got a gently used one with his StudioDeck that doesn’t really play nice with his current setup. So this guy might be me. Lemme know…Actually I want an ART9 next so we're definitely thinking along the same lines

I put it on the other night and my wife was like, "oh damn, this is the stuff I like!" Then she proceeded to grab our kids bongos and play along with the album. Cant remember how many beers in we were. That Garcia/grisman is …it’s making me want to track down shady grove
I have ordered from them before and it arrived across the pond and across the bayou no problems. Thanks mate, gave it a shot. Hopefully they've got decent shipping packaging.
I have a dog and she doesn't give two shits about the HG (alas, I'm single so can't help with the family bit!)@Crabbers I'll add that I dont buy a lot of used vinyl. In general I have been buying fewer records overall lately, but when I do, I focus on higher quality pressings...stuff out of QRP, RTI, Pallas.
I was very interested in that Humming Guru (or whatever it's called), but want to avoid the conversation with my family and dogs after I turn it on and they're all looking around confused like, "what the fuck is that high pitched noise?" Ha Ha. Actually, I've read some folks have been having issues with theirs, which has detered me a bit.
